SUNDAY:  Church was very good AGAIN!!   After church, Marlene and I went to Betty Stover's house to deliver our checks to pay for our trip to Canada in September.  Then I suggested to Marlene that she come to my house for lunch (but I called it Sunday dinner).  We had the leftover beef and cabbage things I made yesterday and potato salad and four bean salad.  We watched the AMIR TSARFATI broadcast from five years ago THE GENERATION THAT WILL NEVER DIE.  Then I took a nap in order to be rested for this evening.  Before church started this morning, Cindi asked me if I was going to the Josh Vacanti concert at Lighthouse Christian Camp tonight.  I told her no, I was not planning on going since I don't drive after dark anymore.  She said she would drive and take Dee and I.  She asked a few other people, but they did not want to go.  She picked me up a little after six p.m.  The concert was great!     Josh a...

SUNDAY:  Church was very good this morning and the sanctuary was very full. As I was leaving church, I saw K.C. Carlson standing in the back.  She was there to talk to the group who is going to Israel in the fall. She and I spoke for a couple of minutes.  It was announced that the Seniors Picnic was moved from Widewaters to the north campus.  I think there were about 20 people there, maybe even less.  Someone (I think David) grilled hot dogs and hot sausage.  Some people brought desserts, and a few brought several bags of potato chips.  Betty and Elaine brought potato and macaroni salads which they shared with everyone.  It was a nice, casual event.   MONDAY the 24th:   I went to the Post Office and mailed a birthday package to Tyler, dropped a book off at the library and went to Rite Aid to buy a new nail file before meeting with Jan at the Y.  We walked off and on for close to an hour.  Then I met up with Lori...

Sunday:  I went to church and before going home I went to the DOLLAR TREE to get some extra paper plates and cups.  I also stopped at Little Caesers and purchased pizza for my lunch.   I spent the rest of the day getting ready for tomorrows trip.  I didn't get as far as vacuuming the floors like I had planned to do.   Monday (Day one of trip) I think I left Lockport right around ten a.m.  I stopped and got gas at the "cheap place" on the Transit.  Then I got on the thruway.  I arrived in Penn Yan around noon and found the PENN YAN DINER, but it was closed.   I called Leslie and she was already in Penn Yan, at a Presbyterian Church.  It is amazing that we both arrived in Penn Yan at the same time.  She made her way to where I was waiting in front of the condemned diner and we had lunch at THE WAGNER, right across the street from the diner.  The server (Zena) told us that there was a fire in the PENN YAN DINER abo...
