OLD OLCOTT DAYS: July 28, 2018
I asked Mary Ann if she wanted to go to Old Olcott Days and she agreed. Even though she has a cottage in Olcott, she has never been to this event. (I went to it three years ago with Peggy, David and Gail).
It was a cool and comfortable day! I spent close to an hour at IMAGINE COMMUNITY GARDEN and was able to donate some vegetables. Then I went home and took a shower and had a hot dog for lunch. Mary Ann arrived and we left my house at 12:40 or so and I drove. It was easy to find a parking spot. The first thing we did was go to YE OLD LOG CABIN, which opened up two years ago. I had never been to it.
We walked around the area of small shops
and finally we headed back to Lockport. It was a great afternoon!

Thanks to a grant from the Niagara River Greenway in March 2015, the cabin will rise again. The Town of Newfane will receive a total of $169, 512 in funding for this project, which has recreated the Ye Olde Log Cabin.
It is a very nice museum inside and the woman in charge seemed to know everything about "Old Olcott".
We took the free trolley ride and heard a lot about the history of Olcott. Then we explored the Carousel Park...…
….the vintage rides are so neat! We ran into Ursula near the organ grinders. We walked around the area of small shops
and finally we headed back to Lockport. It was a great afternoon!
