Schoellkopf Site and the N.A.C.C. in Niagara Falls 7/18/18
Marlene and I planned to do something today because the weather forecast was for a not so hot, not so humid day. I offered to drive, and that was our plan but when Marlene arrived, as I was putting stuff into my car, she said she wanted to drive, so I let her. Our first stop was at
for gas and then we headed to Niagara Falls, NY to go to the Schoellkopf Site. Marlene had never been there. We parked on a side street next to the aquarium and walked over to the site and took the elevator down.

Then we took the elevator up and we walked part of this trail : the GORGE RIM TRAIL, going towards the falls:
Then we walked back to the area of the elevator and had a picnic lunch under the pavilion. And then we went to the N.A.C.C...……….a huge art gallery in an old high school. We went to two exhibits: the Underground Railroad Exhibit and Beyond the Barrel. Both were good.
While checking out the gift shop we met Kelly Lang Buckley who is Director of Development and Marketing.
This is her on the left. She is very passionate about art and about the N.A.C.C. She told us about some upcoming events that sound interesting.
One last stop, for ice cream at DeDee's Dairy. I asked if it was real custard as opposed to soft serve, but the girl did not know the answer. Whatever it is, it was not quite right, it was the wrong color and way too soft. I think maybe it was custard, but that it had not been kept cold enough, and it was melting faster than I could eat it.
