Memorial Day 2019 ADVENTURE

Peggy and I decided to go to St. Catherine's, Ontario, Canada  to the Welland Canals Centre hoping to see a large ship pass through Lock 3.  We were fortunate to be able to watch  the SUNDA (a huge Liberian Cargo Ship) pass through.
It moved very slowly, and as it approached, it appeared that it would barely fit through the space.
It is so huge that I could not get a picture of the whole ship, but I found this photo online:
It was very warm and I escaped to the inside of the visitors center (Welland Canals Centre)
and went to the gift shop and then into the museum.  Peggy joined me after a bit.  Then we found a geocache very close to the parking area and then we headed to Welland,  where we had lunch and saw a Heinz Gaugel mural.  Then we headed to Niagara Falls.  Just outside of Niagara-on-the-Lake, we stopped to see this tiny chapel.

We stopped for about fifteen minutes at the Centennial Lilac Garden in Queenston before crossing the bridge back into the USA.

The smell of the lilacs was lovely!

This time we did not have any trouble getting across the border.  Traffic was slow as we crossed the bridge, and I took this picture.
It was a great day!
