I had breakfast with Mary Anne at her hotel and then we headed to Buffalo.  We arrived early for her appointment, but it was not long before she had her lab work done, and we headed to her doctors office in the same building.  Unfortunately, she got some bad news that her tumor has grown a bit.  Her doc did not seem too alarmed though, and mentioned that she has other ideas.  One of them was immunotherapy.  She prescribed AMBIEN to help Mary Anne sleep.  The doc decided to not have Mary Anne do chemo today, since she is still recovering from the blood infection and urinary tract infection.  It will be scheduled for next Tuesday.

We stopped at PARKSIDE CANDIES for lunch.  I parked in the back just outside the small candy factory.  I guess they make their ice cream here, too
 I didn't cross the busy street in order to get a good picture of the whole store, but I
 got these three pictures.


 The inside is amazing!!!!!  It is so beautiful...…….especially the ceiling.
                           We had the best table in the house, in  this booth!.
They have a small menu, sandwiches, a salad and a couple of soups, and a few deserts.  We each had a sandwich and then we each had a small scoop of ice cream.  I had the chocolate peanut butter.

and told me some of the history of the shop.  It has been in business since 1927.    

Once back in Lockport, we swung by Mary Anne's house for a few minutes and found that Kevin has pulled up the living room carpet.   Then to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription for Mary Anne.

 I slept pretty good last night.  I don't remember getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom!  For sure I did not get more than five or six hours, but at least I got that much.  I finished up putting together my Christmas box in order to take it to Freedom Church this morning.   I went to the Ladies Life Group.  I think there were nine or ten of us there this morning and it was a very good meeting.  At the end, several of the group decided to go to Wendy's for lunch but I decided not to go.  I went to WalMart and picked up a few items and had lunch at home. EAGLE WATCH at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge and more: 2/1/2020

Betty and I went to the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge for the EAGLE WATCH, which was part of the IO Palooza event today.  She picked me up and we drove to the Visitors Center on Casey Road.  There were several things going on in this building, and they were offering pieces of cake. The event was a celebration of the  20th year of Iroquois Observations.   We had cake, walked around a bit and went into the gift shop.  We got directions to the location of the Eagle Watch from a worker and then headed to the Cayuga Overlook. They had scopes set up for visitors to see the eagle and the nest.   I took this picture through the scope. We wanted to hike a bit so we got directions from the ranger how to get to a certain trail, but we could not find the road to it.   We headed to the Tonawanda Indian Reservation so we could have lunch at Jan's Sah-Da-Ko-Nee Restaurant.  We entered the reservation via Bloomingdale Road, the road the re...

Week of Sunday, August 10th through Saturday, August 16th, 2025 (Recipe for Crazy Crust Pie)

 SUNDAY:   I took my trash out early today and it was SO HOT, that I felt that my breath had been sucked out of me.  I messaged Jan about it, since her asthma really bothers her in hot weather and I knew that she might be better off staying home from church.  Church was very good, the Eastmans performed and spoke.  After church, Glenda, Andrea, Marlene and I went to THE OLIVE LEAF for lunch.  I had the turkey dinner, which was very good even though they did not serve my gravy on the side like I requested.  I brought a lot of turkey and also my whole gen salad home.  Andrea told us the story about how she and two of her kids along with other people in a church she attended in Ohio went down to New Orleans to help out after Hurricane Katrina.  When I got home, I watched part of the four part documentary about  it.  HURRICANE KATRINA:  Race Against Time.  Crazy Crust Pie 1 C. flour 1/4 C. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 t...
