Saturday 7/13 Tuscarora Field Day/Picnic and Salt and Light Festival

Dee was under the impression that there was a Ladies Breakfast at the Family Worship Center in Pendleton.  She called and left a voicemail message that she wanted to sign herself up for it, as well as Betty and I.  However, when we got to the church at the appointed time, it was apparent that there was nothing going on.  The Pastor, who lives next door, came out and told us that it had been cancelled due to his wife having health issues.  Betty and I decided to go out for breakfast elsewhere but Dee decided not to join us.  We went to Hoovers hoping to have the breakfast buffet, but the restaurant was closed  There was some sort of event going on there.

We had a very nice breakfast at Tina's in Sanborn.  Then we went to the reservation for the Tuscarora Field Day/Picnic.  We had a nice time there, we stayed a couple of hours.  We checked out all the vendors, watched some of the performances and had a piece of carrot cake.

There were a LOT of vendors.  I purchased a key chain.  Betty bought a pair of earrings.  After dropping Betty off at her place, I called Mary Anne and told her I would be able to pick her up to take her to mass.  I rested a bit before going to get her. Later on in the day Betty and I met up with Dee, Vicky and Ron at the SALT AND LIGHT FESTIVAL

We all enjoyed the entertainment (The Peyton Sisters).  Sixteen and seventeen year old sisters who truly love the Lord.  They write some of the songs that they sing.

and the speaker Kristen Anderson.  Kristen lost her legs in a suicide attempt when she was a teen.

Now she tells the story of how she came to know the Lord, and she is married and expecting her fourth child now.
