Christmas 2019 Dinner at My House

David prepared a spiral ham, a  turkey breast and stuffing (he forgot to bring the gravy).  I prepared macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes,  carrots cooked in cider,  crescent rolls, corn, an assortment of pickles, baked custard, fruitcake and peanut butter swirl brownies.

David, Peggy, Catherine, Scott, Lizette, Louis, Carrie and I were present for the meal.  Louis is Scott's son and Lizette is his mother.  Everything was delicious!  There were tons of leftovers.  Peg and David gave me a home security system which David will install soon.

The day after Christmas both Carrie and I slept late.  Peggy came over for a little while.  I put things away and cleaned up after yesterday.  I watched DRIVING MISS DAISY.   Using my leftovers, I made Macaroni and Cheese Soup which turned out great!

 I got a call from Kevin K. at Northwest Bank at nine a.m. asking if I could come in and sign one more paper regarding my new SYMMETRA account.  I agreed to be at the bank at 9:45.   After that, I went to FREEDOM CHURCH for the Ladies Life Group.   Their were nine of us there and it went well.  Then five of us went out to lunch at THE OLIVE LEAF. During lunch I asked Elaine if we might be able to start up some fun things to do together on Tuesdays after Life Group.  We had started doing that a few years ago, but it never really stuck.  Elaine was very enthused about this idea.   When I got home, there was a call from the estate lawyer asking me to come in to the office and sign some forms regarding the Principal account at Key Bank.  I called and agreed to go in tomorrow morning. New Year's Day 2022 at Home

 I put a pork roast, carrots, sweet potatoes and onions in the crockpot and covered most of that with orange juice.  I thought about calling Marlene to ask her if she would like to come over for supper, but I decided not to, since I want to do several things around the house, including putting Christmas decorations away and if she were to come, I would want to make desert and muffins, etc., which would take me away from the tasks I want to work on.  I completely stripped my bed all the way down to the mattress cover and started laundry.  I tried on all the clothing items I bought yesterday to make sure they fit well, and in case I might want to return some of them.  They all fit well and I will keep all of them, so I started washing them.   I continued watching THE SPANISH PRINCESS.  I talked with Peggy on the phone, and Lisa Pichey called and I spoke with her for a while.  She had her foot surgery two weeks ago and is recuperating at home. November 20th, 2020

 I had the oil changed on my car this morning.  I talked with Elaine and Betty on the phone, also.   I decided it would be a good day to stock up on groceries and other items since Thanksgiving is next week and the stores will be full of people.  Also, from watching the news, I think maybe there will be another STAY AT HOME order coming soon due to the rising number of COVID cases in this area.   First I went to Aldi's where I spent close to one hundred dollars on all sorts of items including some frozen vegetables, a piece of salmon, ground beef, canned vegetables, etc.  I took those groceries home so I could get the frozen stuff into the freezer.  I made myself  a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch.  I have so much food, paper items and cleaning items that it was hard to find spots to put everything.  I still have two hundred dollars worth of SNAP benefits available.   I rested, read and watched TV the rest ...
