January is Coming to an END!!!!! 1/30 and 1/31/2020
Yesterday (the 30th) I went to the Y and walked and used a few machines. I ran into my sister in law, Janie and we talked a bit while walking. My brother, Mike, was down in the gym waiting for a turn to play pickle ball. After the Y, I met Betty at DENNY'S where they were offering free VEGGIE BURGERS to customers ordered a drink.
It was pretty good, having a nice flavor. Betty asked our server if there was a list of ingredients and she brought it to us. It appears to me to be mostly artificial stuff and the only thing close to a vegetable is beet juice. I don't think I will ever be OK with paying eight dollars for one, but I am glad I tried it.
This morning (31st) I was wondering if I should go to the Y when Betty called and asked if I might want to go to the hospital for baked fish. She agreed to pick me up at 12:15, but she forgot and went directly to the hospital. I called her at 12:25 on her cell phone and agreed to meet her there. The fish was very good, like it always is. I had coleslaw and a potato dish that they call "chip dip".
I had signed up for NARCON TRAINING, sponsored by Freedom Church, at SAVE THE MICHAELS OF THE WORLD. This morning I thought of my friend Bonnie, whose nephew Michael is an addict so I decided to call her and ask if she would like to go. She agreed and she invited her sister Kathy and her friend Crystal. I met up with them at STM at 7:30 p.m. There were not many people there for the training. Peggy, me, Crystal, Bonnie, Kathy, Cindra Enzinna and her husband Don, and one of Cindra's employees from the CareNet Center, along with another guy.. The training was very good and we each were given NARCON to take home.
I am glad I went. The places I go are pretty low risk: church, the Y, the library, hiking and geocaching, etc. but there is always the chance that I could have an opportunity to save the life of a person who has overdosed.
