February 16, 17 and 18, 2020

Sunday after church, Betty and I decided to go out to lunch.   We decided on TWO FORKS UP, a seafood place on the Millersport Highway.  However, when we got there, we found it closed.  We hemmed and hawed a bit and finally decided to try to find the AMHERST BUFFET (Chinese Buffet on Niagara Falls Blvd.    We had to call Peggy (who is in South Carolina) to get directions.   Lunch was great, they had a LOT of seafood.  I started with the Mongolian Grill and then went to the buffet

The SENIOR SOCIAL which was supposed to be yesterday (Monday 2/17) at the Y was cancelled and rescheduled for next week.  I ran a few errands in the morning.

Early this morning (Tuesday the 18th) Betty and I drove to Buffalo General Hospital and met up with Vicky and Ron.  Vicky had a minor surgery performed and Betty and I kept Ron company for several hours, while we all waited  

We had lunch in the cafeteria.  There was a woman selling Polish baked goods and I purchased these
Ron, Betty and I each had some after lunch. I think this is my first time having CHRUSCIKI.   

Our plans were to pick up Liz and Myrna and take them to SOLID ROCK CHURCH for their monthly spaghetti dinner.  However Liz texted Betty and told her she had her granddaughter and one of her friends at her house.    We picked Myrna up a little after five and headed to Gasport
We met up with my cousin Betty and Chuck and Chris were there and we all shared a table.  The meal was very good.  (it always is).  I finally go home around seven p.m.  This was a VERY long day.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week of Sunday 9/10 through Saturday 9/16, 2023

 SUNDAY the 10th:  I went to church, which was very good.  The topic was: and then out to lunch with Lori and Marlene, at Kalamata's.  I had the turkey dinner.  I spent the rest of the day at home.  I talked with Mary and Peggy on the phone.  I did a bit of cleaning and straightening because tomorrow morning, Peggy and Betty are coming over to watch a Jack Hibbs video.   MONDAY:  September 11th, 2023, Betty, Peg and I met up at my house and watched the first of three videos of Jack Hibbs. speaking about DAZE OF DECEPTION.  It is excellent and we decided to meet again on Wednesday to watch part 2.   Then I went to the Y for the class for seniors called ENHANCE FITNESS.  We were all evaluated as to our speed doing certain activities.  Before leaving, I asked both Jan and Elaine if they wanted to go to LKPT ENERGY HOUSE for a shake.  They agreed, so we met up there.  While we were relaxing and drinking our shakes Captain Kendra D'Itillio of the Lockport Police came in and we chatt

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes. Then I returned a bottle of cranberry juice to Aldi and got a refund.  I spent the rest of the day at ho
