WEDNESDAY, May 27th, 2020 MASK ORDER from National Allergy//banana bread

After breakfast I called National Allergy to order masks (after reading all the details on their website)Four ten packs for $64.99 with free shipping.  I think these masks offer more protection than the handmade ones I have, especially for when I go grocery shopping.    I tried to order online, but after I added them to my cart I could not find a spot to actually go to my cart and look at my order.   So, I tried by phone and after a bit of a wait I was able to order them.  I am saving info from the email address for my records here:

 I took a whirlpool bath and washed my hair.   I cleaned the countertop to the right of my kitchen sink and got rid of a couple of items and rearranged the stuff I keep there.  I made a macaroni salad and got the ingredients ready to make banana bread using this recipe:  https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/banana-bread-recipe-1969572  I hope to send some of both to Delores and Ellie.

Becky called needing to have a copy made.  I told her I am out of ink for my copier.  We talked a bit about the Bowler family reunion.   She thinks she might not want to do any more.  I encouraged her to think about it next year.

Peg called and we finalized arrangements for tomorrow when I need her to help me with transportation home from my ENDOSCOPY.  Tonight, she and David will bring her car over to my house.  In the morning, I will drive myself.  David will drop her off at the surgical center tomorrow around 9:15 a.m., the time I should be finishing up and  she will drive me home.  She will drop off the mac salad and the banana bread to Delores and Ellie.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helper...

 SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. Week of Sunday September 8th through Saturday September 14, 2024 (new password info)

 SUNDAY:  I got up a bit earlier than usual today because I had things to do to get ready for the COUSINS GATHERING later on here at my house.  Church was very good.  I went to DOLLAR TREE and purchased three bags of ice before going home.  When I got home, I started setting the backyard up with chairs and tables and filled my good cooler with ice and drinks.  Gail arrived first and Peggy and David arrived a few minutes later. Then Mike arrived.  He gave us the sad news that his wife Janie was just diagnosed with breast cancer, after a routine mammogram, a second mammogram and then a biopsy.  He said it was caught very early and Janie seems to be accepting the news pretty well.   David set up his grill in the garage and I brought the meat out.  He seemed disappointed that I only provided FOUR (very large) hot Italian sausage.  I suggested we cut them in half, but he did not seem to want to do that.  He cooked both the hot ...
