I went to church this morning.  I flagged Ben down and gave him forty dollars to use to buy items for the scavenger hunt/giveaway events that FREEDOM is putting on.   After church, I left quickly so that nobody would have time to invite me out to lunch.  I have been eating out too much, and also, I was kind of in the mood for some of my egg salad!

After lunch, I did a few things around the house, including sweeping the kitchen floor.  I laid down for a while but I am not sure I really slept, but I probably did sleep a little.   

I had an idea that I wanted to try out.  Years ago when you bought a jar of bread and butter pickles, their were sliced onions in with the onions, but in recent years they have eliminated the onions.  I decided to slice up some onions (thinly) and add them to a jar of pickles.  I will wait a few days before trying them.  

Christa called to tell me that they had to euthanize Riley this morning since she was having such a hard time walking.   She was diagnosed with lymphoma a few days ago.  Her and Nikolai are pretty upset and plan to stay home from work tomorrow and she mentioned something about planning a graveside service.  Christa did not want to talk, she just wanted to let me know.  

Christa posted these pictures yesterday, so I think they must be recent.  

Riley was fifteen years old and Christa had her from the time she was a puppy.  

I had some four bean salad and a bagel with peanut butter and jelly, along with a glass of chocolate milk for my supper.  

I called Connie to tell her about Riley, and I also called Leslie and we discussed our upcoming trip to Rome.  

I folded laundry and hung up and put away a lot of items. 

I went through Mary Anne's mothers recipes tonight, they were one of the last items I found while cleaning out the house.  She had several copies of many of her recipes.  I found one I like ONE PAN TURKEY AND STUFFING and I may make it this week, since I have leftover turkey in my freezer.
