 After I got ready for the day, I went over to Peggy's house two pick up a couple of  BLESSING BOXES and addresses where they should be delivered.   I delivered both boxes and then went to the LOCKPORT OUTDOOR STORE and picked up another set of JaxTrax.   They are almost out, so I am glad I got them today.  I called Pam and suggested we meet up at the Y so we could walk the track.  However, when I arrived at the Y a few minutes before noon, I was told they were closing in a few minutes.   While there, I paid the $1.00 I owe for the upcoming craft class.  Monday, February 1st at six thirty p.m.    I waited in the parking lot for Pam and we decided to go to the Day Road Park for our walk.  We met up there and took a short walk.  It was too cold to walk long.   Before going home, I called THE MAYFLOWER and ordered some take out food for my lunch.  

When I got up from my nap, I returned a call from Betty.  Then I checked my front porch and found that my BLESSINGS BOX had been dropped off.  Various people started posting pictures of their boxes on FB.  Here is one 

My box is missing the yellow smiley face stress ball!

Myrna called and we talked for a couple of minutes.  I will save her favorite seat for her tomorrow morning at church.  Connie and I talked for a half hour or more.  She talked about how she needs three surgeries for her deviated septum.  I told her I don't think she should have them

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helper...

 SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well. ...

Week of Sunday September 8th through Saturday September 14, 2024 (new password info)

 SUNDAY:  I got up a bit earlier than usual today because I had things to do to get ready for the COUSINS GATHERING later on here at my house.  Church was very good.  I went to DOLLAR TREE and purchased three bags of ice before going home.  When I got home, I started setting the backyard up with chairs and tables and filled my good cooler with ice and drinks.  Gail arrived first and Peggy and David arrived a few minutes later. Then Mike arrived.  He gave us the sad news that his wife Janie was just diagnosed with breast cancer, after a routine mammogram, a second mammogram and then a biopsy.  He said it was caught very early and Janie seems to be accepting the news pretty well.   David set up his grill in the garage and I brought the meat out.  He seemed disappointed that I only provided FOUR (very large) hot Italian sausage.  I suggested we cut them in half, but he did not seem to want to do that.  He cooked both the hot ...
