2/22/2012 Leaving Cranberry and Arriving in Hilton Head

We had breakfast at the hotel, which was kind of scanty due to the pandemic but we were given "go bags"  with a few items in them to take with us.  Then we headed south.

After a few hours of driving, we had lunch at Long John Silver, I had the lunch special of a piece of fish, three shrimp, two hush puppies, a drink and coleslaw for  a little over five dollars.  Then we got back on the road and kept going.

On the way, Peg and I read out loud  from the book IS THIS THE END by David Jeremiah.


We picked up a light supper at a Bojangles in Clarksburg, Peg and I both had  the ham biscuits, two for three dollars, and they were delicious.

We arrived at our condo around 9:15 I think.  We were all very worn out.  Our lodging turned out to be very very nice, large and well decorated.  David raved about it!  Apparently, it is the nicest place he has stayed at in forty years of coming to HHI.  It really is great to have my own bathroom, just outside my bedroom door.

 Before going into the City of Niagara Falls, New York for my second COVID vaccination, I went to the Fashion Outlet Mall on Military Road to go to OLD NAVY.  I had a coupon for twenty dollars off of a purchase totaling fifty dollars or more.   I was hoping to find some spring short sleeved tops.  What I did find was a pair of "khaki's" for fifteen dollars and then I picked out a t-shirt that can be worn with those pants.  I was able to redeem my coupon and get the outfit for $15.00.   I don't really like the khaki pants but they fit snugly, are lightweight and will be good to wear for hiking, so that I will be able to see any ticks that land on me.    Then I headed to the Conference Center in the falls.  I parked in the same place and since I was early and needed to use a rest room, I went over to the Culinary Institute where I knew there was a clean ladies room.   My plans were to go to the Barnes and Noble and to the ba...

New Year's Day 2022 at Home

 I put a pork roast, carrots, sweet potatoes and onions in the crockpot and covered most of that with orange juice.  I thought about calling Marlene to ask her if she would like to come over for supper, but I decided not to, since I want to do several things around the house, including putting Christmas decorations away and if she were to come, I would want to make desert and muffins, etc., which would take me away from the tasks I want to work on.  I completely stripped my bed all the way down to the mattress cover and started laundry.  I tried on all the clothing items I bought yesterday to make sure they fit well, and in case I might want to return some of them.  They all fit well and I will keep all of them, so I started washing them.   I continued watching THE SPANISH PRINCESS.  I talked with Peggy on the phone, and Lisa Pichey called and I spoke with her for a while.  She had her foot surgery two weeks ago and is recuperating at home. FRIDAY June 3rd, First Day 2022 of the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage

 We went to Camp Allegany in the morning to register.  Leslie picked up two Allegany Nature Pilgrimage shirts that she had ordered when she registered us, and gave me one for a birthday present.  They had shirts from previous years for five dollars each, so I purchased two of them, one for me (green) and one for Leslie(yellow).  I changed into the shirt Leslie gave me and she changed into the one I bought her. I was looking for Lori Myers, who I had messaged with on the ALLEGANY NATURE PILGRIMAGE facebook page.  Turns out I was misreading.  We met LON Myers and his wife.  We picked up our schedules for the Pilgrimage:   We went geocaching for a bit since there were a couple of free hours before the event started.    We took our packed lunch to the Red House Administration Building and ate in the large room overlooking the lake and used the restroom there.   Leslie and I both went to NATURE TANGLES.  Judy Light led this gr...
