After trying to make an appointment for a COVID vaccination (not successful),  I decided to go to FeelRite this morning to get some LACTO.

I called first and placed my order and paid for it with a credit card, so that I could take advantage of "curbside service".   That worked well, and as I was leaving, I saw that WEGMANS was right across the road (the transit) so I decided to go over and get a  couple of loves of Organic Rosemary Sourdough bread.  I also picked up a few other items.  

My order from the VERMONT COUNTRY STORE arrived last night and I opened it up today.  I tried on the denim shirt to make sure it fit OK  (it fits well).  I really like it.  

and decided to wash it, so I gathered other items and did a load of laundry.  

When I got back to Lockport, I stopped at McD's for a dollar drink and then took one of the loaves of bread over to Peggy.  She loves it as much as I do.  When I got home, I prepared lunch and settled down in front of TV to watch the IMPEACHMENT hearings.  After lunch, I worked on updating Peggy/s geocaching info for Hilton Head, Beaufort, Bluffton and Charleston.  I hadn't quite finished when it was time to go to the First Presbyterian Church for their dollar dinners.  It was a drive through dinner.  I ran into Elaine there, and we talked for a couple of minutes.  The dinner was very good. 

In the evening, I watched TV and relaxed.  Peggy called around nine p.m.  I tried to reach Paula F. by phone but was unable to.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helper...

 SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well. ...

Week of Sunday September 8th through Saturday September 14, 2024 (new password info)

 SUNDAY:  I got up a bit earlier than usual today because I had things to do to get ready for the COUSINS GATHERING later on here at my house.  Church was very good.  I went to DOLLAR TREE and purchased three bags of ice before going home.  When I got home, I started setting the backyard up with chairs and tables and filled my good cooler with ice and drinks.  Gail arrived first and Peggy and David arrived a few minutes later. Then Mike arrived.  He gave us the sad news that his wife Janie was just diagnosed with breast cancer, after a routine mammogram, a second mammogram and then a biopsy.  He said it was caught very early and Janie seems to be accepting the news pretty well.   David set up his grill in the garage and I brought the meat out.  He seemed disappointed that I only provided FOUR (very large) hot Italian sausage.  I suggested we cut them in half, but he did not seem to want to do that.  He cooked both the hot ...
