FRIDAY FEBRUARY 4th, 2022 FRAUD ALERT

 I went out and shoveled snow so that the mailman can easily get to my mailbox and then shoveled out a "ridge" that the city plow left at the top of my driveway.  After that, I decided to NOT go out today even though Jan and I had planned to go to the WALKING CLUB at the Y.  She stated that her neck was bothering her so she did not want to go out.  

I called Pam to see how she is doing, and she is doing fine.  She went out yesterday to have blood work and to her dentist.  I put together a pumpkin pie and baked it.

  I was just finishing up my lunch and watching the movie (more of a documentary) ZARA when the phone rang, and SPAM RISK showed up.  The voice mail said it was Northwest Bank calling about a possible fraudulent activity using my debit card.  I was not sure this message was the real thing so I called my local NW Bank and they verified that the phone number left in the message was correct and that I should call it.  I did and it was verified that there was a fraudulent something or other using my debit card number.   After I hung up from that call, I realized that even though the fraud person and I agreed that I did not make a transaction, that somehow the company (GOBI or GOVI) had the last four digits (or more) of my debit card.  So, I called back and got a different person (male with a foreign accent) and cancelled my debit card, which I have only used once or twice to get money out of the ATM at the bank.  He told me to call the number on the back of my card to request a new one.  I did that but I got suspicious when the woman who I was dealing with could not give me the name of my bank, telling me that she represented many banks. I did not feel comfortable with that and told her that I would call my local bank and handle this.  I called NW Bank and spoke with a male representative who wanted me to give him my ENTIRE Social Security number.  I offered to give him the last four numbers and he said that would not be sufficient.  I asked if Kevin Kopek was in and he transferred me to Kevin, so then I knew I was really at NW Bank in Lockport.  Kevin told me that I would automatically be issued a new debit card, and it would most likely be "in the system" by Monday, and I should call him then.  I agreed to this.  

Regarding the above, earlier today when I was watching Ben Shapiro's new podcast, there was a chat line going on along the right hand side and someone offered what appeared to be an opportunity to join another chat.  I decided to try it, but after giving a nickname (JuneNY) and verifying that I am not a robot, whatever I was supposed to respond to next to made me suspicious, so I closed out the page without completing whatever it was.   It is interesting that the transaction that was fraudulent was for zero dollars and zero cents.  WIERD.  I discussed this with both of the fraud specialists.

Anyways, YARA is about an Italian teen who disappeared between her dance studio and home, which were very close together.  The English words are dubbed in.

I rested in the afternoon and only had a piece of pumpkin pie for supper, with whipped cream and several LACTO.   I decided to continue to work on sorting through my clothing and tackled my dresser that has underwear and pajamas.  Myrna called and we talked for a while.
