Sunday, February 27th, 2022 and Monday the 28th

 SUNDAY:   Pastor Chris Ball


 from Elim preached a great sermon today.  After church, Betty and I met up at the OLIVE LEAF for lunch.  I had a huge Greek salad.  They must put a half a head of lettuce into this salad, along with a lot of chicken, four pieces of pita bread, etc.  

I rested in the afternoon (falling asleep on the couch), and then watching a movie I found on Tubi.  

I called Myrna and we talked for a while.  She sounded very tired and she agreed that she is.  She has a medical appointment tomorrow and will start chemo on Tuesday.  

I watched the two episodes of GOOD SAM that I missed.    Now I am caught up.

MONDAY February 28th

I hardly slept at all last night, due to running to the bathroom most of the night.  UGH.  I felt awful when I finally gave up and got up, but I decided to keep my chiropractic appointment at ten thirty.  First, though, I called NORTHWEST BANK regarding the fraudulent charge made at walmart.com for an item purchase in Bentonville, Arkansas.   Turns out that there were several other attempts to use my old debit card, but they were rejected.  

My chiropractor appointment went well.  When I got home, I found a FB message from Christa, and we chatted for a while.  She has the day off from work to unpack and will return to work tomorrow.

I tried to nap but couldn't fall asleep, so I got up and did some vacuuming and straightening.
I tried to reach Connie by phone, but she did not answer.  

On youtube, I watched KEEPING YOUR COOL on THE CLIMATE DEBATE with Bjorn Lomborg.  It was kind of a low-key debate (more like a conversation) between Bjorn and Peter Robinson (Uncommon Knowledge) of the Hoover Institute.  Dr. Bjorn Lomborg is president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and visiting professor at Copenhagen Business School. He’s also been speaking and writing about climate science for almost 20 years. This over an hour-long video is excellent, I would love to discuss it with Christa but I doubt if she would ever watch it.

I asked Leslie (via email) to watch it and let me know what she thinks.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.  SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well.  I stopped at THE DOLLAR TREE to get some cookie mixes.  I spent the rest of the day
