FRIDAY: First thing today, I met with Kevin Kopek at NorthWest Bank, and I signed some papers in order to move some money from my American National Account to the Symmetra account that I inherited from Mary Anne. This is the money from the sale of the house I owned in West Laurens, after I paid cash for my Subaru,  It was around thirty thousand dollars at the time,  Kevin said it was yielding one percent and will do better in Symettra.  I went to the library after that and picked up two books they were holding for me.  Then I went home for a bit before going to Dr. Fetterman for an eye check.   Since my last visit there two weeks ago, the mandate for wearing masks has been eliminated!!!!  He checked my right eye with regards to the laser surgery he did last week.  I scheduled for the left eye for next Friday.  Then I went home for a bit.  Betty picked me up at noon and we had lunch at Burger King and then she dropped me off at BASIL TOYOTA and I picked my new car up.   Zach went over some of the features on the car and I drove it home.

I took a nap and then got up and started preparing supper for David and Peggy.  Everything was already prepared except for the fruit salad.  When Peggy tasted the Irish Soda Bread that I bought at TATER CAKES, she said "this is awful."

I explained to her that it is not a sweet bread and that I really like it.  We had a nice meal together and I heard all about their trip.

After they left and I cleaned the kitchen, I decided to find something on TV to watch.  I spent about a half an hour looking through what NETFLIX and HULU had to offer, but could not find anything.  I tried the ROKU channel and found the movie HAVEN.  Based on the truth story of Ruth Gruber, who worked for the Department of the Interior during WW2 and went to Europe to escort close to one thousand Jewish people to the USA.

They ended up in Oswego, New York. There is a small museum there that tells their story and Peggy and I went to it in the summer or fall of 2012.  They stayed in FORT ONTARIO, which was closed that day, but we drove around it.  I got halfway through the movie, it is three hours long!   I will watch the rest tomorrow in between stuff I want to do around the house.

SATURDAY:
I worked around the house in the morning, straightening and sorting and throwing some paper stuff away, while watching the rest of  HAVEN.   I made a folder for Glacier National Park trip stuff, and sorted through brochures and magazines.   After lunch, I started my homework for the Ladies Tuesday Morning Life Group.  I was watching episodes of THE LOCATOR when I noticed that Christa was on Facebook.   I messaged her and we "chatted" for a while.  She did a lot of venting about things that happened during her school days.  I think she may be exaggerating somewhat, but I have to admit that the Christian school that I paid thousands of dollars for did not live up to my expectations.  I showed her Larae's obituary and this picture I took of her and Larae when Christa was eight years old.  They are putting together something like LEGO's in the back room of our house in West Laurens.

I vacuumed and straightened up the front porch, which has become more like a "mudroom" than it should be, but I admit it is handy for that purpose.

Connie called in the evening and we talked for a bit.  She seems to be doing OK.  She goes to the dog park in Oneonta a few times a week.  She has her heart set on getting a dog of her own.   Maggie called to ask for a ride to church tomorrow.  I had completely forgotten that she needs a ride for a few weeks since Jan is taking the membership class and goes in early for that.  I agreed to pick her up.
