April 26th (Tuesday) and April 27th (Wednesday) in (Denver Botanic Gardens)

 TUESDAY: this morning, Christa asked me when I planned on leaving since she wanted to make an appointment (online) with her therapist.  I told her that if she wanted to do that, I could easily make myself scarce.  But I figure that she asked me that question because she is ready to "go it alone", so I went online and found a flight on Saturday with FRONTIER AIRLINES, a direct flight between Denver and Buffalo leaving early afternoon, which is a really good time for both me and Nik and Christa.  The Frontier website recognized me as an account holder. I must have opened my account in January of 2018 when I purchased my round trip to Denver for April of that year.  However, they had the year of my birth wrong and I was unable to change it to the correct year.  Christa got on the phone and we got it fixed and I made my reservation.  I communicated with Peg and she will pick me up at the airport Saturday evening.  

We had a frozen pizza for supper and watched one or two episodes of KILLING EVE and decided on a plan for tomorrow.  The three of us will go to the DENVER BOTANIC GARDENS.  Nik ordered our tickets online for noon, and we agreed to be ready to leave a little after eleven a.m.

WEDNESDAY:  I was the first one up and had breakfast out of the way before Nik and Christa got up.  A repair person came to work on the flooring just beyond their front door, and this held us up a little.  We arrived at the gardens about fifteen minutes late.  We spent a couple of hours there,  I took a lot of pictures and so did Christa.

and when we left I asked them to pick an interesting and unique place for a late lunch, early supper.  I suggested TERIYAKI MADNESS, but I guess that did not appeal to Nik.  We ended up at Cherry Cricket a popular burger place. 


It was pretty good, but I cannot call it spectacular.  Christa loved her burger which had goat cheese and fig jam on it, among other items.  I ordered a little burger, it was supposed to be a quarter of a
pound, but I don't think it was that big. 


It was good, though, and so was my side of coleslaw.  We got home around five p.m. and we all rested for a couple of hours before having some snacks and settling in to watch more of KILLING EVE (season three).

 Before going into the City of Niagara Falls, New York for my second COVID vaccination, I went to the Fashion Outlet Mall on Military Road to go to OLD NAVY.  I had a coupon for twenty dollars off of a purchase totaling fifty dollars or more.   I was hoping to find some spring short sleeved tops.  What I did find was a pair of "khaki's" for fifteen dollars and then I picked out a t-shirt that can be worn with those pants.  I was able to redeem my coupon and get the outfit for $15.00.   I don't really like the khaki pants but they fit snugly, are lightweight and will be good to wear for hiking, so that I will be able to see any ticks that land on me.    Then I headed to the Conference Center in the falls.  I parked in the same place and since I was early and needed to use a rest room, I went over to the Culinary Institute where I knew there was a clean ladies room.   My plans were to go to the Barnes and Noble and to the ba...

WEEK of SUNDAY April 20th (Resurrection Sunday) through Saturday April 26th, 2025 (new bean/ham soup recipe Tuesday)

 Easter Sunday:  I slept fairly well last night.  While getting ready for church, I put on GAITHER SING-A-LONG 2025 !!!!   And indeed, I did sing along.  When I got to church a full half hour before the ten forty five service was going to start, the parking lot was ALMOST FULL.  There was one empty spot in the front, and in the back was almost full.  I parked in the very last pull out spot in the row.  Church was great!  I sat with Jan, Linda Stein and Marlene whose daughter and a male friend had joined her.  When church was over,  I gave Peggy a ride home and she changed clothes and she and I and David went to ANTONIO's for Easter dinner.  This was our third year doing this.  I treated them because David's eightieth birthday is coming up in eight or nine days.  I ate some cheesecake for desert and took a couple of LACTO pills to help with that.  When we were driving home, we were on Hoover Road when I reali...

Sunday March 31st through Tuesday April 1st, 2025

 SUNDAY:  After church, Marsha, her daughter Colleen, Lori and I decided to go out for lunch.  We had a hard time deciding which place to go, but finally decided on DENNYS.  I arrived first and the parking lot was NOT full, but as I waited for the others, people kept coming and I could see lots of tables waiting to be cleaned up and workers rushing around, so I decided that they were probably understaffed.  I went back out to the parking lot to wait for the others.  Marsha and Colleen drove in and I suggested we go to Arby's next door.  They drove over, and I waited for Lori.  She did not want to go to Arbys since she was there a day or so ago, so she and I decided to go to APPLEBEES, and I went over to Arbys to tell Marsha and Colleen, who had already ordered and were waiting for their food.  I apologized for all the changes.  Lori and I met up aet Applebees, and we both had the meal deal special, a drink fries and either a burger or ch...
