TUESDAY 4/19/22

 Nikolai worked from home today since the landscapers were coming to do MUCH work in the yard and they also put screens up throughout the house.  Christa and I relaxed and watched movies.  The best one was OUR FRIEND, a true story.  I prepared grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch for the three of us.  

Christa continues to do well.  She took her first shower since surgery this afternoon.  I prepared steak fries in the oven for supper, and broccoli and Nik did hotdogs on the flat grill surface on their stove.  It was a good meal.  In the evening, we watched the documentary about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz,

EAGLE WATCH at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge and more: 2/1/2020

Betty and I went to the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge for the EAGLE WATCH, which was part of the IO Palooza event today.  She picked me up and we drove to the Visitors Center on Casey Road.  There were several things going on in this building, and they were offering pieces of cake. The event was a celebration of the  20th year of Iroquois Observations.   We had cake, walked around a bit and went into the gift shop.  We got directions to the location of the Eagle Watch from a worker and then headed to the Cayuga Overlook. They had scopes set up for visitors to see the eagle and the nest.   I took this picture through the scope. October 20,2020

 I slept pretty good last night.  I don't remember getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom!  For sure I did not get more than five or six hours, but at least I got that much.  I finished up putting together my Christmas box in order to take it to Freedom Church this morning.   I went to the Ladies Life Group.  I think there were nine or ten of us there this morning and it was a very good meeting.  At the end, several of the group decided to go to Wendy's for lunch but I decided not to go.  I went to WalMart and picked up a few items and had lunch at home. I talked to Connie on the phone for a while regarding her appointing me as her agent (Health Care Proxy, Power of Attorney and Executrix of her Estate).  She has all of this set up with someone else, but she changed her mind about that person.    After my nap I went to SOLID ROCK to pick up a spaghetti dinner.  After I ate, I went out for a walk and also...

Week of Sunday, August 10th through Saturday, August 16th, 2025 (Recipe for Crazy Crust Pie)

 SUNDAY:   I took my trash out early today and it was SO HOT, that I felt that my breath had been sucked out of me.  I messaged Jan about it, since her asthma really bothers her in hot weather and I knew that she might be better off staying home from church.  Church was very good, the Eastmans performed and spoke.  After church, Glenda, Andrea, Marlene and I went to THE OLIVE LEAF for lunch.  I had the turkey dinner, which was very good even though they did not serve my gravy on the side like I requested.  I brought a lot of turkey and also my whole gen salad home.  Andrea told us the story about how she and two of her kids along with other people in a church she attended in Ohio went down to New Orleans to help out after Hurricane Katrina.  When I got home, I watched part of the four part documentary about  it.  HURRICANE KATRINA:  Race Against Time.  Crazy Crust Pie 1 C. flour 1/4 C. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 t...
