Tuesday, October 11th, 2022: FIRST FULL DAY in Allegany State Park

I slept really good last night even though I heard Cindi and Jen talking around four a.m. Jen prepared pancakes and sausage for our breakfast in the morning.  

In the morning, Cindi and I did the lesson that our Life Group is doing back in Lockport today.  Jen did not want to join us.  Then we  decided to go to THUNDER ROCKS since Jen had never been there, even though she has been to ASP several times, with her friend Lori.

Cindi and Jen decided to collect some wood for camp fires!  They got a lot!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take my hiking stick, although I was wearing my hiking boots.  We had only walked in a short distance when I almost tripped with my right food, so I caught myself by putting my left foot down hard and landed hard.  It felt like a severe cramp in my lower leg, so I found a place to sit down and wait until the cramp went away.  However, it did NOT go away, and I limped my way back to the car, using a walking stick (branch) that Cindi found.  My lower leg hurt for the rest of the day.

We had lunch at the cottage, and I rested my leg and read while Jen and Cindi took a walk.  By this time, we had found out that the shower controls were NOT working well.  So, we reported this at the QUAKER REGISTRATION OFFICE.  We were told that our cottage is not owned by the park, but by a private agency:  MARINO'S and it would be reported to them.  

We decided to go to Bradford, PA for an early supper at KABOBS at the AUCTION HOUSE. 





Our meal was very good.  All three of us had the chicken kabobs.  The basmati rice that accompanied the kabobs was so good.  I don't think any one of the three of us cleared our plates, there was just too much food!  I would definitely go back again, but I would try something else on the menu.  Although the pain in my calf (or calve) had subsided, I was kind of limping around the rest of the day.

We had a nice fire (made by Jen) and made s'mores.  It was pretty chilly sitting outside.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week of Sunday 9/10 through Saturday 9/16, 2023

 SUNDAY the 10th:  I went to church, which was very good.  The topic was: and then out to lunch with Lori and Marlene, at Kalamata's.  I had the turkey dinner.  I spent the rest of the day at home.  I talked with Mary and Peggy on the phone.  I did a bit of cleaning and straightening because tomorrow morning, Peggy and Betty are coming over to watch a Jack Hibbs video.   MONDAY:  September 11th, 2023, Betty, Peg and I met up at my house and watched the first of three videos of Jack Hibbs. speaking about DAZE OF DECEPTION.  It is excellent and we decided to meet again on Wednesday to watch part 2.   Then I went to the Y for the class for seniors called ENHANCE FITNESS.  We were all evaluated as to our speed doing certain activities.  Before leaving, I asked both Jan and Elaine if they wanted to go to LKPT ENERGY HOUSE for a shake.  They agreed, so we met up there.  While we were relaxing and drinking our shakes Captain Kendra D'Itillio of the Lockport Police came in and we chatt

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.
