WEEK of SUNDAY January 26th through Saturday February 1, 2025 NEW EMAIL PASSWORD

SUNDAY:  Church was especially good this morning.  It was HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY, and Pastor Craig did  wonderful job.  After church Marlene, Glenda, Louise, Marsha and her daughter Colleen and I went to PANERA's for lunch.  I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese combo, and also bought an orange scone.  Good thing I got the scone since the other items were very small, and really not all that good.  Before leaving, I invited Marlene to come over tonight for a light supper and a movie.  She agreed and we set six p.m.  I went to ALDI before going home and got a few items I needed. When I got home, I set the table and sliced the zucchini and took the polish sausage out of the freezer to thaw out.  Then I took a nap.  When I got up, I completed preparations for supper. Marlene arrived a few minutes after six.  We had grilled zucchini, macaroni salad, polish sausage and bread and butter.  I had not prepared a desert, so I brought out pitted dates and Halva Coated Nuts (from Israel).  Then I found ANGEL STUDIOS and asked Marlene to choose what to watch.  She chose BLIND which is

the true story  of Phil Robertson, how his life fell apart, but he found God and straightened his life out and he invented a very good DUCK CALL, which eventually made him and his family millionaires, although that final part was not covered in the movie.  It was excellent.  I am really glad that Marlene was able to come for supper and the movie.  I had invited her a few times in December but she could not make it. We had such a NICE time together.  After she left, I loaded the dishwasher.  I found THE STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT on the National Geographic Channel.

MONDAY:  I did some filing and organizing in the morning.  Jan was supposed to call me when she finished up her PT appointment and was leaving Buffalo and then we would meet up at the Y.  She said she would most likely finish up around noon.  I got ready and got my car out of the garage, and she didn't call.  I finally called her home phone at 12:45 and left a message that I was leaving for the Y and she could meet me there.  I dropped a book off at the library and then went to the Y where I walked for about twenty minutes and did ten minutes on the recumbent bike.  I went to WalMart and got a few items and then I went home.  The wind was awful and I was glad to get the car into the garage and into my apartment.

When I opened facebook I found a message from Jan.  This morning she slipped on the ice next to her car and scraped her face.  She went to the office to register a complaint and the office manager called an ambulance which took her to Lockport hospital where she spent several hours in the waiting room.  She did not need any stitches.  She said she did not have any minutes left on her cell phone and could not call me.  I called her to see how she is doing.  She said she is fine.  I finished up my French Onion Soup for supper.  Peggy called and told me that Pastor Craig asked her to go to Elderwood to see an elderly lady who is on her deathbed.  Peggy said she is glad she went.  The woman was able to reconnect with God after walking away.  Peggy is going to return to see her on Friday.

TUESDAY:  this group of men from FREEDOM CHURCH flew out this morning to southern Mexico on a mission trip. While there, they will build a school.  REAL MEN GO ON MISSION TRIPS.

After LIFE GROUP (Cindi calls it Bible Study). six of us went to THE FIELDSTONE for lunch.  It was me, Cindi, Linda Stein, Carol, Glenda and Pam. I had the soup and salad bar.  The potato soup was good.  When we were finished eating, I asked if anybody wanted to go to the Kenan Center for the exhibit.  Pam and Cindi did, so we met there.  Unfortunately, the mansion was closed for a private event.  Cindi and I decided to go visit Shirley at Briarwood.  However, she was not there.  Cindi called Shirley's son and was told that she had a heart attack this past Friday and is now at Elderwood in their rehabilitation department.  So, I went home and started the dishwasher and took a nap.  But first I called Peggy to tell her about Shirley.  She was glad to find out and will go to see her on Friday she visits the other lady there.  Cindi called and told me that she went to Elderwood but Shirley was not there, her husband had picked her up and taken her for some sort of scan.  I started preparations for the potato soup I plan to make tomorrow in the crockpot.  I also got ingredients ready for tomorrows desert which will be EASY BREAD PUDDING.  Here is the recipe.

4 cups bread, cubed (I like to use buns)

2 eggs, beaten

2 cups milk

1/4 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

place bread cubes in a 1-1/2 qt casserole dish.

Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over bread.

Bake@ 350 for 40-45 minutes.

WEDNESDAY:  This morning was the meeting of the people from Barker Seniors who are going on the March cruise.  There was a LOT of information offered, and I took a lot of notes. As the meeting ended, someone suggested going out to lunch.  I really did not want to use my time for that BUT it was such a good opportunity to get to know some of the other members especially those who will be going on the cruise, that I decided to go.  There were seven of us who went to Denny's.

THURSDAY    In the morning I was on the phone with Spectrum since I needed to change my password for my email account.  It was a terribly long process involving going between websites, etc.  I finally did change it to 2025Friendds$       I have to go incognito in order to open my email on my laptop, and I have to long in to webmail not my usual twcc that I have used for years.  NEW PASSWORD MIGHT BE 49Friendss$ rather than the one up above.

I did a load of laundry and made a small batch of goulash.  I tried to reach Pam in order to invite her for supper, but was unable to.  She called me later on to say she was out most of the day and left her phone home.  Connie called in the evening and we talked for about a half an hour.  She seems to be doing very well and I think she is happy.  Hildy takes her to her trailer where they are going through her stuff and deciding what to do with all of it.

FRIDAY:  I met Jan at the Y and we walked for a half an hour.  Then I went to Panera's and picked up a free drink and my lunch.  I took a nap in the afternoon.  When I got up, Peggy was here working in the basement.  The weather had taken a turn for the worse with heavy snow, so I called Pam and left a message that I think we should wait until tomorrow night for her to come for supper.

SATURDAY:  I stayed home all day, getting caught up on some things.  I did a load of laundry, and showered and washed my hair.  Peggy came over and worked in the basement a bit.  Pam came for supper.  We had goulash, marinated vegetables, rolls and butter with bread pudding and Gift of the Maji bread for desert.  We played two games of SEQUENCE and watched the latest episode of MATLOCK.
