Week of Sunday February 16th through Saturday February 22nd, 2025 New Poldark Movies Link 1drv.ms
SUNDAY: I slept fairly well last night. The weather here is terrible, so I did not go to church. While I had breakfast, I was on Facebook and a new link to POLDARK'S FAVORITES popped up, so I decided to check it out Poldark Surprise.docx but it switched itself to this long one

I opened it and scrolled down a bit and saw that the documovie by Matt Walsh AM I RACIST? was available, so I watched it before my church service came on LIVE on FACEBOOK. I thought I would have to wait until it came to the theatre (if it ever did) to watch it, so I was really happy to have it available FREE. I cast it to my TV.
Late morning I got my trash together and took it out and put it in the trash can since pick up is tomorrow morning. The plow guy had knocked over the large can which is for recyclables, so I got it up and moved it further away and hopefully he won't hit it again. Later in the day I pulled my trash out to the street and shovelled an area in which to put it.
WEDNESDAY I hadn't planned on staying home today. There was a free painting class at the Taylor Theatre, part of Golden Acres which I had invited a few people too, but it was snowing off and on all morning and then I realized that my driveway was a mess, so I decided not to go. Pam and Deb went and both enjoyed it. I worked on sorting through stuff to get rid of and made some progress. I also did a little bit of housework. I had a short nap.
Church was very good. It was testimony Sunday. And, also the men who went on a mission trip to Mexico a few weeks ago spoke about their experiences. Also, they showed a video of the men working on building the church they were building in Mexico and interacting, as well as worshipping with the people of the church, etc. It was announced that a vote was taken regarding building the HOPE CENTER, and everybody voted YES. From the applause, it sounded like the sanctuary is not nearly as full as it usually is.
I made a four bean salad and steamed a small head of broccoli, while I was baking two large potatoes. I called Pam and we talked for about fifteen minutes and then I saw that Leslie was trying to call me, so I told Pam goodbye and Leslie and I talked for about a half an hour or so. I added shredded cheddar cheese and the broccoli to my baked potato and had that for supper. I called Marlene to ask her if she wants me to order her lunch for the next Barker Seniors meeting. She said yes, so I will call and order two lunches tomorrow.
MONDAY: Early in the day I thought I should look at the movies offered by POLDARK, but when I used the above link, it took me to a place where I would need a Microsoft account. I went to the FB page and found that the link is now 1drv.ms. I called SPECTRUM and got a new password. I located my backpack and a few other items that I will take on my cruise. I made some bacon gravy and a potato salad and a large batch of biscuits.
I did my homework for tomorrows Bible Study in the evening. It didn't take very long, so I decided to make some phone calls. I called Glenda, Elizabetty and Mary Sylvis. Then I showered and then started a load of laundry. I decided it would be a good night to watch a movie, so I found LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE on Angel Studios. TRUE STORY, which was very good.
TUESDAY: I got up a little early and made a couple of phone calls. I had to do some shovelling in the driveway because of the drifting snow. Still, I was able to leave early and go to RiteAid and pick up my prescription. I got to Life Group kind of early, but a couple of people were already there. The meeting went really well and then six of us went to APPLEBEE'S for lunch. Then I went to WalMart to get some things I needed. I was disappointed when I got home to find that my plow guy had not come and taken care of the drifts in my driveway. I spent the rest of the day at home. I had purchased strawberries at WalMart so I cut them up for strawberry shortcake.
WEDNESDAY: I spent the morning at home, doing small things around the house and listening to some of the speakers at ALLIANCE for RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP 2025. Peggy came over and worked upstairs for a while. I bagged up some more items such as clothing, extra sheets and extra towels and she took three bags to drop off at LIFE CHURCH, near her house. I had planned to go to the Kenan Center (Taylor Theatre) for GOLDEN ACRES, which was offering a free painting class. But, the weather was not all that good. Pam offered to pick me up but my driveway was such a mess that I was concerned she would get stuck in it, so I decided not to go. She went, though, and met up with Deb Seymour and they both had a good time.
THURSDAY: Another full day at home. My driveway has not yet been plowed and it is very cold outside. I started going through my books in order to decide which ones to keep and which ones to donate to the woman who sells books and DVD's to raise money for the ministry of Jim and Sue Christie. I found todays WHITE HOUSE PRESS CONFERENCE on youtube and watched it. I started going through my several junk drawers in the large hutch that belonged to Dad. Some of the stuff in it belonged to him, and yesterday I gave Peg a rectangular Tupperware container with a bunch of his stuff, and she said she will take care of it. I laid down on the couch with my BRUDER MASK, but I don't think I fell asleep, if I did it was only for a few minutes. I made myself a breakfast croissant with egg, ham and cheese, and had some four bean salad with it, for my supper. I watched an old SVU and the new one that was on tonight, and FOUND.
Christa challenged me in Facebook private message, regarding the verses in the New Testament where Jesus was telling the disciples that they should hate their father and mother. I had to recharge my Chromebook (the device I am on now) so I was not able to give her a complete answer. I think I need to tell her that Jesus was using hyperbole and his main message to the disciples was that he wanted them to prioritize their relationship with him over their relationships with family members. Matthew 10:37 may provide the interpretational key to unlock what Jesus means by “hate” here:
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Yes, we are to exhibit deep affections for our closest earthly kin, but Jesus is saying we must love even them less than we do him if we would prove to be genuine disciples.
if other people give us advice, opinions, or comfort that goes against what the Spirit is leading us to, then we have to make the sometimes hard or uncomfortable decision to stand firm in our commitment to be obedient to our faith.
We have to be firm and make it clear where we stand and not allow ourselves to be influenced by them. That is when we must hate mother and father, friends and anything that comes in the way of discipleship. That is putting Jesus first, and loving Him above all else.
Jesus is telling his followers: “If you would be a Christian, I must have it all.” Your relationship with me is more important and more valuable than your relationship with family members.
I am sure Jesus knew how much believers would love their family. Jesus is telling us here that we need to be willing to give up whatever it takes in order to be His disciples.
https://activechristianity.org/did-jesus-really-say-that-we-should-hate-our-parents would be good for Christa to read, but I know she won't.

FRIDAY: I called Bob Pagan who plows my driveway because he has not been around in a few days and I wanted to go out, but there was a huge drift that would have prevented me from backing up. He told me that he was working on his broken down truck but would do his best to come today. Meanwhile, I continued sorting through my books. I now have a bag of books that I think really belong to Peggy. A bit later on, he called to say he would arrive in fifteen minutes. I told him not to hurry since I had plenty of time. I was on the phone with A T&T about the emails I keep getting about me owing them $73.50. I had to wait on hold for over an hour with customer service, but the debt was forgiven and I was given this confirmation number for this transaction: it is 0272082198. I contacted both Pam and Jan hoping one or both of them would be able to join me at the Y, but neither one could. A couple of hours later my driveway was plowed!! I quickly got ready to go out. I went to DOLLAR TREE and got a few items I needed, to PANERA to get a free drink and o the Y where I dropped of a brand new oil lamp and a bottle of oil that they can put in the upcoming basket raffle, and I walked the track about fifteen minutes and did the recumbent bike for about twelve minutes. Then I went back to Panera to purchase a sandwich for my supper. One last stop at the DALE ASSOCIATION to pick up the instructions for gathering together income tax items, and then I went home. After putting stuff away, I curled up on the couch with my BRUDER MASK, and listened to todays Ben Shapiro show. I may have dozed off for a bit. I had the bagel sandwich and the chips that came with it for my supper. I don't think that sandwich is good enough to order again.
Saturday: I worked on sorting through books and filled another bag to donate. I decided to donate my complete collection of twelve seasons of FRASIER. Each DVD was in a holder that I had added, so they would not all fit into the original box, so I removed them from the holders and sorted and organized them and put them back into the original box. I did some vacuuming and decided that I need to get a new vacuum cleaner. I wrote out a postcard to Tyler and he mailman picked it up when he delivered the mail. All of a sudden around one thirty I started feeling weary, so I laid down on the couch with my BRUDER MASK and I must have slept for a full hour. In the evening, I decided to watch another episode of 24. Peggy called to say that she is feeling better (she had a bad cough for a few days) and that she and David will be leaving tomorrow after church for Hilton Head Island.
