SUNDAY November First through Saturday the 7th, 2025

SUNDAY:Church was good, and then five of us went to Kalamata's for lunch: Lori, Jan, me, Linda and Andrea.I had the triple decker Reuben. It was a good, but not excellent. Lori's steak sandwich looked scrumptious! I went to Dollar Tree to get a card for Glenda's birthday and a few items to finish up my last Operation Christmas Child box. I also picked up a drink at Panera's I spent the rest of the day at home. MONDAY: First thing in the morning, I made a chocolate pie (using NESQUIK) and then I went to my dental appointment this morning and then to the Y to meet up with Pam to walk the track. She was twenty minutes late. She mentioned that tomorrow is her birthday, as well as Glenda's so I messaged Cindi about that. After the Y, I went to Niagara Produce to get a few items. I ran into Gail and Bob. At home, I had a light lunch and then took a nap. When I got up, it was time to get ready to meet up with David and Peggy at THE BIG DITCH for 75 cent wings. We had a nice meal together. I enjoyed the wings I ordered, something Korean. I told them that any time they want to go to THE BIG DITCH on a Monday evening for the wing special, let me know. Then they came to my place for desert TUESDAY: I was awake very early and unable to get back to sleep, so I decided it would be a good time to get up and get a few things done. First, I took the sheets off of my bed and put them into the washing machine, and then I did a few other things including making an appointment for my blood work. I checked my Citizens online account to make sure they paid my bills (this has been an issue in the past). After Life Group, We had a small party to celebrate Glenda's 85th birthday. Cindi made cupcakes and we sang Happy Birthday and she opened her cards and a couple of gifts. We all had a good time. Peggy and Jan joined us. Betty and Elaine stopped in for about twenty minutes. I took a LOT of pictures, both with my camera and my phone. I spent the rest of the day at home.In the evening, I worked on moving pictures from my phone to flickr. I also tried to figure out where and when some of the pictures were taken. I don't know why some of the pictures I took have the wrong date on them. I was able to get ALL of the photos on my phone moved to flickr, dated properly, into albums on flickr. WHEW! WEDNESDAY: I got about five hours solid sleep, maybe due to taking Melatonin and Magnesium, but I could not get back to sleep. I went to the MOVERS and MAKERS. The "exergaming" was a bit more fun today. We used watercolors to paint. Then I went to Dr. Kurbs for my chiropractic treatment. Then I went home and Andrea picked me up and we went to SCHWABS and purchased squash using our Farmers Markets Coupons. I got a LOT of squash.I took a nap after lunch. In the evening, I completed my second THREE Operation Christmas Child boxes, and paid $30 online. I now have completed SIX boxes. I talked with Elaine on the phone in the evening. Her surgery will be early Thursday morning. THURSDAY: I had my blood drawn for tests this morning at the Lockport Hospital. Then I went to Denny's and had a light breakfast, since it was FASTING BLOOD WORK. Then I went to the DOLLAR TREE and purchased a few items. Then it was time for me to go to Dr. Schler's office for my appointment. I went to the MOBIL on Transit and vacuumed the car out, and also picked up a small sub at SUBWAY. Then I stopped at the library on the way home to pick up a book I had requested. When I got home, I had lunch and then took a nap and then got ready to go to the PALACE for the fundraising event for Lockport Cares.
Andrea picked me up and we went to the PALACE THEATRE wheremet up with Debra, her friend Maria (who I only met once years ago),Lori, Louise and VIcky. Cindi and her husband, Jack, came also, but sat elsewhere. They handed out the meals in the lobby
.The meals were pretty good, I had the pulled pork which came with a pasta salad.
The salad definitely was different from standard pasta salads.and the movie ELF was great. It was Maria's first time watching it. As we were leaving, Marlene realized that she was missing a glove. We retraced her footsteps back to where she was sitting before I suggested she, Maria and Deb join us on the other side, since we had tables. A man (I think he was one of the shelter speakers) had it laying out on his table. As we were leaving, we were each given a cookie from Panera. It was a great evening! Here is a picture of the program. Megan messaged me and asked for prayer for her friend, Becky, who lost one of her sons today. She is so upset. FRIDAY: I met Lori at the Rochester Road TOPS and headed to Le Roy, NY to visit Dee McDonnell at the rehab place. I drove on 77, then on 5 and just before Le Roy, I used my navigation system to get to the exact address. Dee was not in her room when we arrived, she was in PT and we found her there. We visited with her while she finished up her exercises. Then the therapist helped her walk (using a walker) to the nearby dining room. We were able to sit at a table and visit with her as long as we wanted Altogether, we were there for over an hour. Before leaving Le Roy, we had lunch at Le Roys No Finer Diner. I had a steak and cheese sandwich and sweet potato fries. I was exhausted when I finally got home and laid down for a while and may have slept a bit. Before I laid down, I put three butternut squash in the oven and they baked while I rested. I cooled it a bit and then added orange juice and brown sugar and mashed it, and now it is in the freezer. SATURDAY: I spent a great deal of time reviewing paper items and talking on the phone with reps from both UNIVERA and UNITED HEALTH CARE, trying to get better information that I need in order to decide what to do about my Medicare Advantage Plan for 2025-either move to another Univera Plan OR change to United. Elaine called me just as I was looking for her home phone number, and we arranged that I will go to Gasport and pick up turkey dinners for the 3 of us and take them to her house. Peggy and David came over and David replaced the broken railing on the ramp. By time they left, it was time for me to go to Gasport. I arrived a little before two thirty and there were several cars in line already. They didn't start to move forward until about three fifteen. I got the dinners and took them to Elaines house and she, Marsha and I had supper together. The meals were absolutely delicious!
