Week of Sunday, October 25th through Saturday October 31st, 2026
SUNDAY: Church was really good this morning, I love it when Pastor Craig uses "props". Like this saddle on top of a couple of bales of hay.
We honored Pastor Craig and Jenny because October is Pastor Appreciation Month. After church, Glenda, Carol, me, Marlene, Vicki and Lori had lunch at Applebees. I spent the rest of the day at home, resting and watching TV. Leslie sent me a link to a Glenn Beck program. It was very good and while watching it, I threw together a four bean salad.
MONDAY: I decided to go out and get gas and pick up a prescription at Walgreens. I was shocked when I got to Housels and saw that they do not have gas pumps anymore. So, I went to the Marathon and pumped it myself. I spent the rest of the day at home. I showered and washed my hair in the evening.
TUESDAY: I had X-rays of my knees at the hospital and then signed in for my appointment with Dr. Roberto. I had been expecting to see one of his PA's (according to a phone message) but was surprised when Dr. R himself came in. He said that I have outlived both of my knees, both being bone on bone. He suggested physical therapy and send an order over to BODY MECHANICS. He signed the form for me to get a handicapped parking tag, so I took it right to CITY HALL and now I have it....it is a temporary one, good for six months. Then I went to the Kenan Center for GOLDEN ACRES. I was able to make use of the tag. Gold Acres was a but if a bust. During the "walking time" I sat and talked with Louise and a few other people. Marlene came and she walked a bit. The activity today was "fitness" and several went upstairs to do it. The rest of us stayed down and socialized. Deb Seymour had arrived by that time. We all left early and noticed that those who went upstairs were also leaving. I went home for a little while before going to BROOKSIDE for lunch with Glenda, Carol, Karen and Linda Stein. I had the BROOKSIDE CUBAN and a side of fall vegetables. I brought half of all that home. I took a nap and then spent the rest of the day at home. I went through some slacks that I have never work, probably items that I got at one of the places that used to offer free clothing. I bagged the unwanted slacks up in order to go to the Good Will. I was not hungry for supper, so I had a carton of yogurt and some four bean salad while watching KEEPING MUM with Maggie Smith.
WEDNESDAY: Vicki and I went to Barker Seniors this morning. I had forgotten that it was kind of a Halloween party, with several people in costume. Here is Sandra:
I skipped exercise today. We had a presentation about HOSPICE CARE. When it was over, Vicki and I took a short drive, all the way south on Quaker Road, then turning left and going by Verati Farms. When I got home, I laid down on the couch and I may have fallen asleep for a short time. Lori came and picked me up and then we went to Elaine's house and she drove us to North Ridge UM Church for their donation dinner: SOUP and SANDWICHES. It was very good and we were all given soup to take home with us. I found the movie SPITFIRE GRILL on TUBI and watched it.

THURSDAY: I got up early and got ready to go to my appointment with Dr. Basra. It went pretty good except for her wanting me to take meds for my blood pressure. I guess I must need it, because for the last six to nine months or so every time I have had my blood pressure taken, it has been high. I was relying on what my first primary here in Lockport (Dr. Varallo) told me : that since my BP had been good for so long that I would never need to take medicine for high BP. Dr. Basra ordered x-ray and scan of my left arm due to the swelling that has persisted since August 1st, the day fell in Medina. However, they could only do the x-ray and I made an appointment for eleven a.m. tomorrow for the scan to be done. Then I went over to the lab hoping to have blood drawn (because Dr. Basra told me to) but I didn't know that I should have registered first. I decided to make an appointment for tomorrow when I can fast before it. Then I went to Panera and got a drink. Then to WalMart for OSTEO BIFLEX and a couple of other items, and I also got a small sub at SUBWAY, which I ate at home. Elaine texted me that she found Lori's cane in her driveway, and that she would drop it off. I was just getting ready to lay down for a nap, so I texted her to leave it on the ramp or steps. She did leave it, while I was sleeping. I spent the rest of the day at home. Jan and I made tentative plans for Halloween night, when we will have pizza and worship at church. She will pick up the pizza.
FRIDAY: I skipped breakfastt because of FASTING BLOOD WORK First, I went to the hospital and checked in at one of the kiosks, for BOTH appointments. 9:15 for blood work, which went quickly and well. Then I went to Denny's for breakfast. I had one of the breakfast specials, two blueberry pancakes, two poached eggs and two sausage links. I did not eat the whole thing. Then I went to CiTIZENS bank and took a hundred dollars out of my checking account. Then I returned to the hospital and not to IMAGING. I did not have to wait long before I was taken in for a DOPPLER of my left arm. Nothing was found. I called peg and left her a voice mail saying that I was going to go to Aldi before going home. I purchased several items and when I got home, Peggy was already there. She had arrived a half an hour ago and had lunch before I arrived. We visited for a while and then got into prayer for our unsaved family members. After Peg left, I put groceries away and picked up and then I took a nap. I spent the rest of the day at home. I prepared cabbage, onions and kielbasa for my supper. I watched an episode of SHERIFF COUNTRY that I missed and then a new episode. I got an email from WALGREENS saying my prescription is ready, so I will pick it up tomorrow.
