October 12th and 13th, 2021

 YESTERDAY, I went to LIFE GROUP in the morning.  It did not finish on time, but I left at 12:30 before it actually ended.   I ran into Marlene in the parking lot.  She looked really good, maybe a little pale.  She is recovering from COVID and said her recovery is progressing.  She said that she just came from the doctor and was told that her lungs are good.  She has another chest x-ray coming up, and after that she hopes to return to work.  I don't recall what I did the rest of the day, except that I made coleslaw in the evening.  

TODAY, I had an eye doc appointment in the morning and I was there close to two hours.  I told Dr. L about how my right eye seems foggy and blurry compared to my left.  He said I have a tiny tear in the implant that was put in after my cataract surgery (which I think was just about four years ago).  He said it can be repaired by laser and it is a very simple procedure that can be done at his Williamsville office.  He said I do not need to have it right away if it is not bothering me.  

I stopped at Cusimano's and used a coupon for a grilled chicken sandwich and I ate it in the car while I continued reading the book Mary gave me when we left ASP last Friday morning.  

I went to THE GOOD WILL and dropped off a bag of items and went in and looked for a denim vest, without success, and to Citizens Bank and deposited the check Mary gave me, to the DOLLAR TREE to get a few items and got gas.  When I got home I called HOLIDAY VALLEY to get info about the ski lift ride that Betty and I might take this coming Saturday.  I took a nap and got up in time to meet up with Sarah and Elaine at Elaine's house.  Sarah drove us to the church in Cambria where we picked up chicken and biscuit dinners.  We took them to Elaine's house so we could eat together.  We talked for an hour and a half or so after we finished eating.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.  SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well.  I stopped at THE DOLLAR TREE to get some cookie mixes.  I spent the rest of the day
