12/23/21 IT's THE DAY BEFORE THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

 I cleaned the kitchen and dining area floors and the bathroom and started setting the table for Christmas dinner.  I made layered JELLO just for the fun of it.  However, I expected three layers and only got two.  I talked to Peg on the phone a few times and also called Gail and the three of us will get together for lunch next week on Wednesday, unless the weather is bad and if it is, we will change it to Thursday.  I read some in THE SISTERS BROTHERS.  I went out and cleaned off the car and turned it around.  

I added an extra set of lights to my Christmas decorations.  Leslie called just as I was ready to turn the phone off so I could take a nap.  We talked for about a half hour or so.  I wish she lived closer to Lockport so we could spend more time together.  I took a late nap.  

I called Connie's cell phone.  She has moved to HAMPSHIRE HOUSE!  It is a top notch assisted living facility.  I suggested it to her a year or so ago, but she was not ready.  She sounded happy!  All of her needs are being met now, and she can relax and enjoy life.

In the evening I watched the documentary ANITA.   It was Anita Hill's side of the story.  She claimed that Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her.  The outcome of the hearings was that nothing could be proven.  THE QUEEN at 90 came on automatically after ANITA, so I left it on.  

My plans for tomorrow involve vacuuming the two living rooms and continuing to straighten up.  I will go to Rite Aid to get my two prescriptions.  I may throw the COWBOY BEANS for Christmas dinner together or I may leave it until Christmas day.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.  SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well.  I stopped at THE DOLLAR TREE to get some cookie mixes.  I spent the rest of the day
