December 26, 2021 At Home

 After breakfast I started putting things away and moving things around in order to get the house ready for Carrie's arrival.  Then I decided to open and set up the Christmas gift that Megan sent me.  Of course, it is not working the way it is supposed to.  But I didn't expect it to, due to my former experiences with technology.  

I decided to skip church because I just felt thoroughly exhausted from yesterday and thought I should get rested up before Carrie arrived.  I finished putting stuff away and got things ready for her.  She arrived home at four p.m.  

In the evening, I watched the documentary BRAIN ON FIRE, a true story of a 21-year-old woman who had an autoimmune disease attacking her brain.  She recovered due to to the efforts of a retired doctor who agreed to look at her.

 I put a pork roast, carrots, sweet potatoes and onions in the crockpot and covered most of that with orange juice.  I thought about calling Marlene to ask her if she would like to come over for supper, but I decided not to, since I want to do several things around the house, including putting Christmas decorations away and if she were to come, I would want to make desert and muffins, etc., which would take me away from the tasks I want to work on.  I completely stripped my bed all the way down to the mattress cover and started laundry.  I tried on all the clothing items I bought yesterday to make sure they fit well, and in case I might want to return some of them.  They all fit well and I will keep all of them, so I started washing them.   I continued watching THE SPANISH PRINCESS.  I talked with Peggy on the phone, and Lisa Pichey called and I spoke with her for a while.  She had her foot surgery two weeks ago and is recuperating at home. Sunday March 31st through Tuesday April 1st, 2025

 SUNDAY:  After church, Marsha, her daughter Colleen, Lori and I decided to go out for lunch.  We had a hard time deciding which place to go, but finally decided on DENNYS.  I arrived first and the parking lot was NOT full, but as I waited for the others, people kept coming and I could see lots of tables waiting to be cleaned up and workers rushing around, so I decided that they were probably understaffed.  I went back out to the parking lot to wait for the others.  Marsha and Colleen drove in and I suggested we go to Arby's next door.  They drove over, and I waited for Lori.  She did not want to go to Arbys since she was there a day or so ago, so she and I decided to go to APPLEBEES, and I went over to Arbys to tell Marsha and Colleen, who had already ordered and were waiting for their food.  I apologized for all the changes.  Lori and I met up aet Applebees, and we both had the meal deal special, a drink fries and either a burger or ch...

 I got a call from Kevin K. at Northwest Bank at nine a.m. asking if I could come in and sign one more paper regarding my new SYMMETRA account.  I agreed to be at the bank at 9:45.   After that, I went to FREEDOM CHURCH for the Ladies Life Group.   Their were nine of us there and it went well.  Then five of us went out to lunch at THE OLIVE LEAF. During lunch I asked Elaine if we might be able to start up some fun things to do together on Tuesdays after Life Group.  We had started doing that a few years ago, but it never really stuck.  Elaine was very enthused about this idea.   When I got home, there was a call from the estate lawyer asking me to come in to the office and sign some forms regarding the Principal account at Key Bank.  I called and agreed to go in tomorrow morning.
