January 13th and 14th, 2022

 1/13   I spent the day at home.  In the morning, I vacuumed and mopped the kitchen floor and half of the dining area floor.  The rest of the day I relaxed and finished watching THE GOLDEN PALACE.


1/14   I mopped the rest of the dining area floor.  I asked Marlene if she wanted to go to the Y for the walking club and she agreed.

I went out to Feel Rite to purchase some supplements and drink mixes and a loaf of WHITE BREAD DONE RIGHT. 


 Then I went to VALUE and bought a few items including a different kind of liquid floor cleaner.  

I met up with Jan and Marlene at the Y and we all participated in the Walking Club, which takes place every Friday between one and two p.m.  There were several women there who I had not previously met, Nancy, Judy, Jane were three of them.  After a half hour I told Jan I needed to rest for a minute, so I got off the track.  Apparently, Brianna (the leader) thought that meant I had done enough, and the group ended!

In the evening, I continued watching 


I had seen a documentary on PBS about Emmett Till a while back, but this "scripted" series tells a lot more about what happened.  It is excellent!  Later on, on Netflix, I found LET THE WORLD SEE. a series about Emmett's family.

 Easter Sunday:  I slept fairly well last night.  While getting ready for church, I put on GAITHER SING-A-LONG 2025 !!!!   And indeed, I did sing along.  When I got to church a full half hour before the ten forty five service was going to start, the parking lot was ALMOST FULL.  There was one empty spot in the front, and in the back was almost full.  I parked in the very last pull out spot in the row.  Church was great!  I sat with Jan, Linda Stein and Marlene whose daughter and a male friend had joined her.  When church was over,  I gave Peggy a ride home and she changed clothes and she and I and David went to ANTONIO's for Easter dinner.  This was our third year doing this.  I treated them because David's eightieth birthday is coming up in eight or nine days.  I ate some cheesecake for desert and took a couple of LACTO pills to help with that.  When we were driving home, we were on Hoover Road when I reali...

Sunday March 31st through Tuesday April 1st, 2025

 SUNDAY:  After church, Marsha, her daughter Colleen, Lori and I decided to go out for lunch.  We had a hard time deciding which place to go, but finally decided on DENNYS.  I arrived first and the parking lot was NOT full, but as I waited for the others, people kept coming and I could see lots of tables waiting to be cleaned up and workers rushing around, so I decided that they were probably understaffed.  I went back out to the parking lot to wait for the others.  Marsha and Colleen drove in and I suggested we go to Arby's next door.  They drove over, and I waited for Lori.  She did not want to go to Arbys since she was there a day or so ago, so she and I decided to go to APPLEBEES, and I went over to Arbys to tell Marsha and Colleen, who had already ordered and were waiting for their food.  I apologized for all the changes.  Lori and I met up aet Applebees, and we both had the meal deal special, a drink fries and either a burger or ch...

Week of Sunday September 8th through Saturday September 14, 2024 (new password info)

 SUNDAY:  I got up a bit earlier than usual today because I had things to do to get ready for the COUSINS GATHERING later on here at my house.  Church was very good.  I went to DOLLAR TREE and purchased three bags of ice before going home.  When I got home, I started setting the backyard up with chairs and tables and filled my good cooler with ice and drinks.  Gail arrived first and Peggy and David arrived a few minutes later. Then Mike arrived.  He gave us the sad news that his wife Janie was just diagnosed with breast cancer, after a routine mammogram, a second mammogram and then a biopsy.  He said it was caught very early and Janie seems to be accepting the news pretty well.   David set up his grill in the garage and I brought the meat out.  He seemed disappointed that I only provided FOUR (very large) hot Italian sausage.  I suggested we cut them in half, but he did not seem to want to do that.  He cooked both the hot ...
