Monday, January 31st, 2022 Pat Tomaino's Funeral and Tuesday February first

MONDAY:   I arrived a few minutes early for the funeral. Sharon Dent got my attention and she said she was offering the use of her recreational vehicle which is at LightHouse Christian Camp in Barker during the summer camp for seniors.  It sleeps four, but it would mean sharing two beds.  Anyways, I expressed interest and took her phone number.  

The funeral was very nice.  After the funeral, the family left to go to the grave site.  Peggy, Betty and I started putting the funeral meal together.   I think about 45 people were there for the meal.  It went well.  Betty and I stayed to help clean up.  

On the way home, I stopped at the DALE ASSOCIATION and picked up the information for for filing income tax.  This year they are not making any appointments.   I will have to get my documents together and drop them off, and the tax preparer will call me if he or she has any questions.  The forms will be completed without the preparer and me meeting.  

When I got home there was a message from Elaine and she gave me the information about the Dale Associations income tax preparation this year.  

TUESDAY:  I was getting ready for the LIFE GROUP when Betty called to tell me that she finally got her Y membership straightened out.  I suggested that she go to the Y with Jan and I tomorrow morning, but she declined.  

I took a whole fruitcake to Peggy and gave it to her, along with my check for the rent before the Life Group started.  LIFE GROUP went well, there were seven of us.  We all went to THE FIELDSTONE for lunch afterwards. I had the SOUP AND SALAD BAR, which as usual was pretty good.  

I took a nap and when I got up, I saw that Paula had called.  I tried to reach her and Connie in the evening.  I got Paula's voice mail and Connie's voice mail does not seem to be working.

I continued watching LONGMIRE.  I am on season five.

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.  SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well.  I stopped at THE DOLLAR TREE to get some cookie mixes.  I spent the rest of the day
