Monday, June 20th, 2022 DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA

 I met up with Jan at the Y at 11:15 a.m. and we walked the track for about 35 minutes, with a five minute rest.  We then met up with Elaine in the parking lot and I drove the three of us to Eastern Hills Mall.  First, we went to THE HOPE PROJECT Store.  I found a couple pair of shorts and a few t-shirts, some red placemats and a can opener.  

Then we drove to the back corner and parked closer and we went to the DIPSON Theatre for this movie

Unfortunately, there was only one person working and there was a line of people waiting to purchase tickets.  Since the one person was also dispensing snacks, it took a long time.  We got into the theatre a couple of minutes before the movie started. 

I loved it, Elaine liked it and I think Jan tolerated it since she has not ever seen any episodes of Downton Abbey.

After that, we went to CORE LIFE for an early supper.  I had the COBB salad with sides of chicken and sweet potatoes. 

Then I dropped them off at the Y.  Elaine and I talked about going for spaghetti at SOLID ROCK tomorrow.  

In the evening, I talked with Peggy on the phone about the washing machine situation.  Also, Elaine Fezio called.  She lost Dr. Kurb's phone number and address.

SUNDAY, December 11th, 2022 CONNECT CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

 I got to the church around ten forty a.m.   I asked Lou to let me in to the office area and he did.  I picked up the boxes of cards, list of names and the printed Christmas carols and then I went down to the basement and looked for the "sugars" for the tea.  I found a few.  Then I located the case of bottles of water, but it was heavy, so I located Lou again and he carried it to the kitchen.   Once I got back to the kitchen, I looked for more "sugars" but couldn't find any, so I went to the COFFEE BAR, and they filled a bowl with different types for me.  I got the silverware ready.  I opened up the packaging that held the tablecloths captive (I have had difficulty opening them in the past) so that they would be ready to go.  David and Jan both came at the end of the service.  Jan located the floral displays for the tables, and we started to put the red tablecloths on the tables.  By this time, we had a lot of other helpers.  They put napkins and plasticware at

Week Starting Sunday February 25th, 2024

 SUNDAY:  I started feeling kind of shaky and week during worship at church this morning.  So, I had to tell Marlene that I needed to go home after church instead of going to North Tonawanda with her.  Our plans had been to go to Joey's Place for lunch and then to the Riviera Theatre for the free organ concert by Camden Church.  I stopped at Mark's and got a slice of pizza to take home for my lunch.  It was not very good; I am sure it was left over from yesterday.  I found an episode of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES on Hoopla and watched most of one episode until I started dozing off on the couch.  I spent the rest of the day resting at home, but I started working on planning for Thursday mornings FREEDOM GROUP, which I will be facilitating.   MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment and then went to the Y where I walked 15 minutes and then used the recumbent bike for five minutes.  SUNDAY:  I decided to go to TOPS before going to church, hoping to get some IRISH SODA BREAD.  They had it (right inside the front door) so I got it, and a couple of other items. Church was excellent, the sermon was about HELL!!!   After church I took my groceries home and put the garbage out and changed into jeans before meeting up with Glenda, Elaine and Betty at LaPorts.  They all had corned beef and cabbage, but I had the turkey dinner.  I brought most of it home.  Pam called and wanted me to go to a musical event at a church, but I really wanted to spend the rest of the day at home.  I had a nap.  I scanned some of Peggy's NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Mt. View into her flickr account.  I found a movie: I ACCUSED, based on a true story.     MONDAY:  I had my chiropractic appointment this morning.  I did some jobs around the house until it was time to go to the Y for my class.  It went very well.  I stopped at THE DOLLAR TREE to get some cookie mixes.  I spent the rest of the day
