SUNDAY July first through SATURDAY the 8th of July BLUEBERRIES and DUMPLINGS

SUNDAY:   I missed most of church due to getting ready to serve hotdogs and then serving them out in the lobby after church.  We gave away a LOT of hotdogs but there were a LOT leftover, which we bagged up and put into the freezer.  After church, I took care of Petra and then went home.  I spent the rest of the day at home, napping and resting and I watched the movie BURNING PLAINS.  Paula stopped over for a few minutes, to give me a THANK YOU note for donating to her Ride For Roswell, and we discussed our upcoming trip in September to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands.

MONDAY:  I slept very poorly last night, so I decided to stay home and relax and take a nap today.  I arranged for Pam, Jan and Betty to meet up here at my house to go to the parade.  Betty came, but decided to drive herself down and we arranged a meeting spot.  Pam was a little bit late, but we had plenty of time.  I parked behind Chenez Popcorn and we walked up to the library, and met up with Betty.  The parade was very good this year.

Betty left right away, but Pam, Jan and I decided to walk over to Lake Effect Ice Cream.  The line was very slow and long, so we decided to go to JoJo's for ice cream.  I had a peanut butter sundae with dairy free vanilla.  We were surprise to see several clowns finishing up their ice cream when we arrived.  They had their picture taken with the staff.

After JoJo's we drove out to OUTWATER PARK for a few minutes.  They have fixed up the old empty fountain.
Pam invited Jan and I over to her place tomorrow at one p.m.  Louise and Dee and Marsha will be there, and Pam will do hotdogs in her Foreman grill.

TUESDAY JULY 4th
I called Becky and messaged Jan and the three of us will meet here at my house at two p.m. and we will go to the Fourth of July party hosted by THE LITTLE BAKERY in Niagara Falls.  The Party is NOT in Niagara Falls, but is at 2523 Slayton Settlement Road in Sanborn.  Free food, live music, etc. I did some housework in the morning.

Jan and Becky arrived on time and we headed out 31 to Sanborn.  We had a bit of trouble finding the place, but we finally did.  The party had not really started yet.  We found seats and after waiting a while, I located a place to get pizza and brought it to our table and also picked up three bottles of cold water. They also had chicken wings and Becky and I had some and they were very good.  The music they were playing was country (which Jan hates) and it was way too loud, so after we ate, we left.

I suggested going to back to my place and watching a movie or playing a game.  Becky suggested that we could watch the documentary WHAT IS A WOMAN.   Jan was tired, so she decided not to join us for that.  After Becky left, I went to Niagara Produce since I needed milk and bananas.  I spent the rest of the day at home.

WEDNESDAY:   I went to the Dollar Tree, and then drove further south to get a map of the upcoming Flower Walk in Amherst, and then met up with Jan at the Y.  We walked for a while until it was time or DRUMS ALIVE.  Drums was great fun!  After that, we signed up for a seniors craft class next Wednesday.  I picked up a six inch tuna sub from Subway for my lunch.  I took a nap in the afternoon. I prepared BLUEBERRIES and DUMPLINGS using this recipe:

DUMPLINGS ⁄ cup milk 1 ⁄ cups Bisquick 1 tablespoon sugar BLUEBERRY SAUCE 2 cups water 4 cups blueberries ⁄ cup sugar 1 tablespoon lemon juice

DIRECTIONS Mix together dumpling ingredients in a bowl. Mix together blueberry sauce ingredients in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Turn down burner to low, while alowing the syrup to simmer, add dumpling (should make 6). Cook 10 minutes with lid on (NO PEEKING)! Cook 10 minutes with lid on and then 10 minutes with the lid off.

I halved the recipe because I only had two cups of berries.  This turned out very good!!!

I decided to check out HOOPLA and found lots of British movies and TV shows, stuff that is available on ACORN.  I chose HARRY WILD and watched three episodes.

THURSDAY, July 6th.  I met up with Pam at the Y and she drove us to the theatre to see SOUND OF FREEDOM.

We met up with Peggy there.  We ran into Elaine and Jim DeWeen and Dee McDonnel there, and they sat with us in the theatre.  The movie was great!!!!!  When I got home, there was a phone message from Lori.  Before I could call her back, I found a FB message from Jan saying that she was with Lori at the Medina Hospital, and a little while later Lori called to say she was being transferred to a hospital in Buffalo, and was concerned about her car, since she and Jan had taken it to Medina.  I suggested that Jan could drive Lori's car back to Lockport and leave it at my house while Lori is hospitalized.  She said that was a good idea.  So, later on, after Lori was transferred to Buffalo General Hospital, Jan brought Lori's car here and left it, and I took Jan home.

FRIDAY JULY 7th, 2023  I met up with Jan at the Y and we walked for about a half hour, with a short break in the middle.  I went home after that and changed from sneakers to sandals and freshened up in time for Elaine to pick me up for lunch.  We went to HOOVER's and had baked fish dinners. Ice cream was included in the price for the meal. We ran into Gail and Bob and we talked for several minutes. They offered several flavors of shaved ice and I had loganberry ice.  Then I had some time at home to rest before Jan picked me up to go to the TUSCORORA RESERVATION, where they are having their annual festival weekend.  The first thing we did was find Marilyn, who is a friend of Jan's daughter for a class on finger weaving.

I did horribly, but did complete the project.  Then we walked around and looked at all or most of the booths and tables where there were lots of items for sale.  Neither one of us bought anything except Jan bought a piece of pizza.

SATURDAY:   I watched the first season of THE TOWER in the morning.   I put a butternut squash in the oven.   Then I went to the Lockport Saturday Farmers Market.  I bought some solid dish soap, and found out that it was TOO HOT to be outside.  I took a couple of pictures at the market.

I went to Niagara Produce to get some cider so that I could prepare the squash.  I had some with my lunch and put most of it in the freezer.  I put a ham bone in the crockpot and cooked it for a while before adding some cabbage and potatoes.  I got lots of ham off of the bone and reeturned it to the crockpot.  I cooked some egg noodles and served the ham, cabbage and potatoes over them.  It was pretty good.   I talked to Lori on the phone.  It does not look like she will be getting out of the hospital today.  I went through my dress clothing to see what I might choose to wear to Cassandra's wedding.  I have several choices.  I chatted online with Christa.  She is going shopping tomorrow and hopefully will find something to wear to the wedding.  I found the movie THE RIVER MURDERS

on the ROKU channel and watched it in the evening.
