WEEK OF SUNDAY March 23rd through SATURDAY March 30th, 2025

SUNDAY:  I got to church kind of early, and Maggie joined me.  We talked about our trip to ALLEGANY, and she is so excited.  I am so glad that she decided to join me and that she is so happy  to be going.  Jan and Kat joined us.  They talked all through the worship, how irritating.  Marlene also joined us.  Cindi came over to tell me what little she knows about how Glenda is recovering at home after her surgery.  She spent one night in the hospital, and her daughter is staying with her now.  I asked Marlene if she wanted to go out for lunch after church and she said she was not sure.  When church ended, she asked if it would be just her and I going having lunch together.  I don't know if this means she wanted it to be just her and I or if there is someone she wants to avoid being with or something else.  But by that time I had remembered that I had enough leftover corned beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage for two and I suggested that she come to my house for lunch.  She agreed.  I put it in the oven and set the table and soon she arrived.  She said she got gas and washed her car before coming!!   She did that fast.  We had a nice lunch together.  She shared her concern over her son Todd not being available to help her.  I was pretty wiped out after I cleaned the kitchen so I laid down on the couch for a while.  I didn't sleep very long.  I worked on a list of food to give to Leslie since she is going to buy groceries for Allegany in lieu of paying her share of the cottage rental.

MONDAY   I stopped at Panera's for a free drink before I went to SLEEP STUDY APPOINTMENT at eleven a.m.  I saw a PA named Megan and I think she really knows her stuff.  I will see her again in two and a half months (early June) and we will decide then if I need any further treatment.  I have mild sleep apnea and really do not qualify for a device, which is fine with me.  However, there is a "mouthpiece" that could help me breathe more appropriately.  I called Jan before I drove north back to Lockport since she had agreed to meet up with me at the Y after my appointment, but she did not answer.  I went to the Y and walked a half hour (in three ten minute segments) and did six minutes on the recumbent bike.  I thought about staying for SILVER SNEAKERS BASIC at one p.m. but I was kind of worn out and needed to go to the post office to mail Christa's package.  I also stopped at Subway and used a coupon for a six inch sub, which I ate at home.  I posted pictures of DAY FOUR of my cruise on facebook.

TUESDAY the 25th:   I went to the Ladies Life Group/Bible Study this morning.  We met in the "family room" instead of the small sanctuary.  In a way, this small room, which has couches, is more comfortable than the small sanctuary, but in the small sanctuary, we sit at tables which makes it easy to write.  After it was over, four of us (me, Cindy, Linda Stein and Karen) went to the FIELDSTONE for lunch.  I had a starter which is chicken tenders in a fruit sauce, with fruit) and the soup and salad bar.  During lunch, I asked Cindi if she has been to the Kenan Center to see the exhibit.  She did not answer me, but said that there is something going on this afternoon.  I told her yes, a presentation about WOMEN DURING WORLD WAR 2.  We agreed to meet at the history center at ten minutes before three p.m. I had some extra time before that, so I went to Panera's and got a drink, and then to the post office where I purchased a couple of boxes to send stuff to Christa and then to Niagara Produce where I got bananas.

The presentation was VERY interesting, and at times, a bit of a tearjerker.

Barb Warner Deane, the presenter.  She has written books about "women and small towns" both fiction and non-fiction.

I spent the rest of the day at home.   I worked on finding information to use to label my photographs from the excursion to the AMBER COAST, that is Puerto Plata, Domnican Republic.  I paid bills.  I got the package I will send to Connie ready to mail.

WEDNESDAY the 26th:     I went to BARKER SENIORS this morning.  I sat at with Carol at her request.   I saw Becky come in but then she seemed to disappear.  The meal was meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, bread and butter and a banana.  When I got home a few minutes before one p.m. I decided to take a nap.  Lori and I planned for her to pick up free meals at the First Presbyterian Church and eat them at my house, but she had to loan Jay her car since he was in an accident this morning and teotalled his car.  So, I picked them up and she came over when he returned her car.  We had supper, which was pretty good, and then watched the movie SABINE, about Richard Wurmbrand's wife.  It was excellent.

THURSDAY:  I showered and washed my hair and got ready to go to the DALE to have my income tax done.  It is a good thing I went out to my car early because I found that a water bottle that was not tightly capped had leaded onto my income tax papers.  I brought them in and dried them out, not too much damage was done.  After leaving the DALE I went to PANERA's and purchased lunch which I ate at home.  I worked on packing two boxes for Christa, which I will probably take to the post office tomorrow.  Maggie and I spoke on the phone regarding our trip to Allegany next week.  I verified with Dee (on Facebook private message) that she and I will meet tonight a few minutes before six p.m. at The Shamus.

I took a nap and when I woke up, I had messages from both Megan and Christa that Megan was in a car accident and at the ER, with chest pain and a wrist or hand injury.  I was a pretty upset and called Peggy to tell her about it.  I went to Shamus for the Anderson windows presentation, which was short and kind of interesting, and the sales guy was not pushy.  The dinner was very good, it was supposed to be steak but I think it was roast beef.  When I got home, I called Cassandra and we talked for a bit.  Megan's hand will be splinted.

FRIDAY:  First thing in the morning I messaged Meg to find out how she is doing.  She said she is pretty sore, and did not sleep well last night.  She is waiting for a call from the hand surgeon.  They plan to deal with insurance and looking for another car today.  I went to the library and picked up GOOD NIGHT IRENE and have already started reading it.  I went to the post office and maiied two more packages to Christa.  I went to the Dollar Tree and purchased some snack items for Allegany.  Then I went to PANERA and got a free drink, and then to the Y to meet up with Jan.  She thought we had agreed to eleven a.m. so she had time to use the rowing machine and the treadmill before I arrived.  I stopped at LIL CAESERS and picked up a lunch special and brought it home for lunch.  Dee Mann called and she and I were talking when Peg arrived.  Peggy and I talked for a while before she went upstairs to work for a while.  I repacked the box with my teacup collection that I am saving for Cassandra because I found another teacup and saucer, and then I went through my three boxes of fall decorations and whittled them down into one box for me to keep and two boxes to donate.  I was really worn out after that so I unplugged the phone and laid down and I must have fell asleep immediately.  I did not hear Peggy leave.

SATURDAY:  Peggy picked me up and we went to the Hoover Road residence to visit with Carrie.  I took her some outfits and Peggy gave her a present.  We were on our way back to my house when I suggested that we go to Hoovers for lunch.  I had the steak and cheese sandwich and Peggy had a wrap.  It was her first time eating at Hoovers.  We had plans to meet up with Gail at my house so she could look over stuff on the second floor and see if there was anything she wanted, but there was a weather prediction of freezing rain so she cancelled.  When we got to my place, Peg worked upstairs.  I worked on packing stuff up in my apartment.

My tracphone (flip) that I keep as a secondary cell phone in case I lose my smart phone or it stops working or whatever would not charge.  I called tracphone and wanted to just order a new charger, but I ended up ordering a new phone and charger.  It took about an hour, and I got cut off once, and was very GRUELING.  UGH.

I called Megan and she is doing OK.  Her chest is still quite painful.  She will see the hand surgeon on Tuesday.  She is getting all but a small amount of the money she paid for the show and hotel she was going to Chigago for, thanks to having insurance.

I wrote out a postcard to Tyler and it is ready to mail on Monday morning.
