Week of Sunday April 13th through Saturday April 19th, 2025

 Sunday the 13th:

Church was very good today.  Glenda is back!!!   She recently had surgery and has been at home recovering.  She looked pretty good.  I got to talk to Marlene before the service started.  She is suffering from very painful SCIATICA.  She is getting treatments twice a week at a pain center, and her doctor has recommended physical therapy.

After church I went right home and changed out of church clothing into jeans.  Peggy came and picked me up and we went to GUST OF SUN WINERY because they were hosting a food truck COUSINS MAINE LOBSTER.

We each purchased a roll.  All of the tables and chairs set up outside were taken, so we decided to take them to my place and have lunch there.  I added a couple of items.  The rolls were good,

but small (for the price of $22 each.  We talked for a while.  She told me about a former church goer who showed up at church and barged into Pastor Craigs office with the intention of telling him off because he promoted Trump from the pulpit.  (for the record, I never heard him do this)  The police were called and came and took her.

MONDAY:  I needed a few items so I went to the DOLLAR TREE and got them and then I went to PANERA to see if my SIPS account was really working.  It was and I got my free drink BUT the fifteen dollars reward I was told I would have in my account was not there.  After that I took two boxes and two bags of donations to the GOOD WILL.  Then I went inside the GW and found a very nice, still with the tags on it, long flannel shirt, and a LL Bean turtleneck.  Then I went to the Y to meet up with Pam.  She was very late, but I ran into Vicky and we walked and talked.  Pam finally came and the three of us walked together for a bit.  After that, Pam and I went to PANERA'S to get our free drinks, and I purchased a chicken salad sandwich that I split with her.  Pam is feeling sad because she has nowhere to go on Easter Sunday, so I suggested she and I get together here at my house Sunday evening.  She likes that idea and she will bring a desert.  So, I took most of two large pomegranet hibiscus teas home with me and now I have a quart in the refrigerator.  Peggy came over to work in the garage and I went out and helped her a bit.  Then I took a nap.  Lori messaged me saying that she has tomorrow off from work and asked if I wanted to go out for supper and then here to watch a movie.  I suggested that she pick up a pizza and bring it here and she agreed to six p.m.  I will make a salad and desert tomorrow morning.  Probably a custard pie.  In the evening, I worked on taking pictures out of one of Chris

TUESDAY:  I made a salad and a custard pie in the morning. Lori and I went to SOLID ROCK for sp
aghetti and the came to my place to watch the movie, HOOVIE.  I gave her some items: silverware, a stuffed monkey with a pacifier (that Christa said she does not want me to send to her) and a storage unit to put in the back of her car (something she really needs).

WEDNESDAY:  I went to RiteAid to get my eye drops, the Dollar Tree hoping to find some more quarts of SIMPLY MANGO (I did) and then to Panera's for a free drink.  Then I went to the Y.  Pam, Vicky and Louise were there.  I was trying to help Vicky open her locker which caused me to make a mistake punching in my code.  Jan arrived and we walked for a little over a half an hour.  I gave her the postcards that I fished out of the garbage the other day.  I picked up a lunch special at Lil Caesers before coming home.  I spent the rest of the day at home.  I gahered some old books together and boxed them up for Peg to give to David, so he can sell them on ebay.

THURSDAY:  I went to the post office and mailed a box to Christa and an envelope with kindergarten items to Megan.  Then I went to Panera's and got a free drink and then to the Y.  First thing I did at the Y was pay twenty dollars so that I can take part in the calendar drawing.  Each day in May, they draw a name to win a prize.  I have won before.  Jan and I walked a bit before going to the Senior Social, which was basically planting vegetable seeds in a ready made container.  There was another planting project, but they ran out of seeds before they got to our side of the table.  I stopped at SUBWAY and used a coupon to get a small sub.  The girl working was in such an incredible hurry even though I  was the only customer in the store.  I had lunch at home and continued watching Season One of NATALIA SPEAKS.  Peggy came over to work upstairs and I took a nap.  I figured out how to watch HULU on my older TV in the family room.

FRIDAY:  First thing (kinda) today I went to the new hospital to have my annual blood work done.  The technician I had was VERY GOOD (Cassandra).  Then I went to Panera and had breakfast and read some of the most recent issue of NewsMax.  Then I went to WalMart and got a few groceries and then I met Pam at the Y and we walked for about 35 minutes. When we got off the track, I noticed Colleen and Marie sitting at one of the tables, so I stopped to talk with them for a few minutes.  They had been to the "meditation class".  Colleen remarked about how much work is required in order to relax.  When I got home,  I put the groceries away and then picked up some branches in the yard.  Peggy came over to work upstairs for a short time.  While she was up there, I called NewsMax in order to extend my subscription.  While doing that, I found out that the credit card I used this morning at Panera and WalMart was not working.  I called the company and they had put out a "security alert" or something like that because my card had been inactive for so long and all of a sudden, it was being used.  After answering many questions including giving the amount on the WalMart receipt, my credit card was reinstated.  However, after all that time on the phone, I was not in the mood to call NewsMax back.  I laid down, hoping to get some sleep, and I think I did get a little.  I had meatloaf, baked potato and broccoli for an early supper before going to Freedom Church for the Good Friday service.   I met Lori and Gail there and a bit later on Marlene and Pam Campanini joined us.  The service was great.  There were a few empty seats.

SATURDAY:  I decided to stay home all day and accomplish a few things:  1. fill out the form and mail my chiropractor bill to Univera.    2. fill out my OTC order    3.  Gather up the old pictures, documents and other items from the way back when and put them into a plastic three drawer item that I have.  I started with #3 and was doing well until Peggy called and asked if I wanted to go to the Community Market.  I decided to go.  While there, we each bought a sweet potato knish and brought them back to my place to eat.  I also bought a pint of vegan ice cream and  a large oatmeal raisin cookie and a soup mix.

So, we had lunch together.  Then she went upstairs to work on her old apartment.  I decided to make sloppy joes out of the meatloaf I defrosted yesterday and then make potato salad.  I gave Peggy some potato salad before she left.  I took a nap.  I enjoyed my supper of sloppy joe, potato salad and a small lettuce salad, and two small cookies that are kind like Oreos.  I took care of numbers one and two up above. WHEW!!!  They can both go out in the mail on Monday.  Connie called and we talked for about a half an hour.  I watched more of NATALIA SPEAKS.  There is a LOT of repetition which is what makes this series so long.  I think all of Natalia's story could have been told in a mini-series.
