May 13th (Tuesday) through Saturday May 17th, 2025

TUESDAY:  I wehnt to the Tuesday Ladies Bible Study/Life Group at Freedom Church this morning.  It was very good, and the attendance was nine ladies, I think.  Peggy came in and gave me a bulletin from this past Sunday and some fliers regarding her Seniors event coming up on Sunday the 25th.  Five of us went to lunch at THE VILLAGE EATERY:  Karen, Glenda, Cindi and Carol.  I had a large sandwich called THE STINGER.  It had both chicken fingers and steak on it, along with lettuce, onions and tomatlesoes, and it was very good.  I spent the rest of the day at home, napping, doing laundry, unpacking a little and putting stuff away.

WEDNESDAY  I had planned on going to BARKER SENIORS this morning, I even made tuna salad for a sandwich to take with me but I decided to stay home and get some things done.  I didn't accomplish as much as I would have liked to BUT I did some. One drawer in my desk is emptied, and one windowsill is emptied of colored glass bottles.  I decided to save one of each color.  So, my kitchen counter is holding many items of colored glass, etc.  I talked to Peg on the phone this morning and I agreed to make a pot of tortellini soup for the seniors event which is coming up.  I went to the Y in the early afternoon to walk the track and then to WalMart to buy a whole chicken which I had hoped to cook in my broiling machine, but it has turned out to be too big for that.  I picked up a sub at WalMart and had lunch at home and then took a nap.  In the evening, I got caught up on the TV shows I missed last week and also finished emptying my suitcase and putting clothing away.

THURSDAY: I finished putting Tyler's box with my coin collection, some old bottles of Dad's and some other items and labelled and taped it up.  It will go into a storage area at Peggy's house.   I worked on doing more sorting of items to either keep or get rid of in the morning, and also put a whole chicken into my crockpot with carrots.  After picking up a large iced tea at Panera's I met up with Jan at the Y and we walked for a half an hour.  I stopped at Lil Caesers on the way home and got a lunch special.  Shortly after I got home, Peg arrived.  I went upstairs with her and helped sort through blankets, sheets, towels and pillows.  I have to decide what to do with the quilts, etc. that belong to me.  I called Erica Joan before I laid down for a nap, and left a message asking if she can come and clean up my flower beds in front of the house.  While I was napping, she called back and said YES, she can!!!  I need to call her back to set a time. Leslie called (at my request) and we agreed on getting lodging for the night of June 10th in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.  So I will start looking for it tomorrow.

FRIDAY:  In the morning I made hotel reservations for one night (June 10th, 2025) for Leslie and I.  MARRIOTT AT THE FALLS. 6755 Fallsview Boulevard. By the time I had accomplished that it was time to leave to meet up with Jan at the Y, but I had time to stop at Panera's and get an iced tea.  Jan and I walked for about 35 minutes.  I stopped at Arby's and picked up lunch, which I had at home.  I spent the rest of the day at home.  Peggy was here working upstairs.  I invited her for supper, so she returned at six p.m.  I made chicken and biscuits, and butternut squash.  Peggy raved about the chicken and biscuits but I thought it was so so.  Peggy mentioned that Julie is going to have another game night tomorrow night at her house and I agreed to go with her.  I messaged Julie that I will be there.

SATURDAY:  I took down the decorative items on top of the huge hutch/china cabinet that belonged to Dad and cleaned them up.  I found a couple of items I had forgotten.  I took a picture of two tins from my collection and sent them to Christa to see if she wants them.

Peggy called and she is going to Aldi before coming over here, so she agreed to pick up the items I need for the dip I will be taking to Julie's house tonight.  She and I went to the Lockport Community Market.  We checked out most of the offerings but neither one of us bought anything.  We went to Niagara Produce where I got milk and two loaves of bread.  When we got back to 17, Peggy worked upstairs and I put together the dip and bread, using a recipe I found last night on the internet.  I have used the same recipe in the past several times. Peggy and I had lunch together here.  I took a nap after Peg left, and when I got up, I got ready to meet up with her.  I stopped at RiteAid and picked up two prescriptions.  Since I have read conflicting news articles, I asked the clerk if the store will be closing up and she said YES, it will, but they have not been notified about exactly when that will happen.  She said they will be given thirty days notice so they will be open for at least thirty more days.  She said it is possible that the store will be taken over or bought by another company, which would save their jobs.  I met up with Peggy at her house and we we.  nt to Julie Schultz's house for her game night.  She holds one four times a year.  This was my third time going.  I met Naomi's mother (Shamecka) and aunt (Charity) for the first time.  The other participants were Megan and Rowena.  We each brought a snack.  When I got home, I decided to get ready for bed and crash in the family room in front of ZUMO.  I couldn't find anything I wanted to watch, so I watched some of 24.
