SUNDAY August 31st: After church, Glenda, Marlene, Andrea and I went to THE BIG DITCH for lunch. I had the fried green tomato sandwich. It was pretty good even though the bottom slice of bread (toast) was burnt on the bottom and they charged me three dollars extra for substituting the vegetables for fries. The vegetables (zucchini and yellow squash) were prepared to perfection, though.k WHen I got home, I started preparing food to take to Dee's house tomorrow, since I told her I would bring lunch. I got rally tired and all of a sudden I did not feel well (I think it was all of the pimento cheese in my sandwich at lunch) so I took a nap. I think I slept about ninety minutes.WHen I got up I started cooking again and I sliced up the meatloaf for sandwiches and to put on top of the spaghetti I will prepare for supper tomorrow night. I also found a recipe for IMPOSSIBLE PIE without Bisquick https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/12441/impossible-coconut-pie-ii/ and stuck that in the oven and when I finally sat down (after loading and starting the dishwasher) I found that Season three of UNFORGOTTEN was on PBS. So, I found the first episode on ON DEMAND, to watch before episode two comes on at ten p.m.
MONDAY (Labor Day): I went to Dee's house and looked through her four albums of pictures she took during her Alaskan cruise several years ago. Then we had lunch together that I took: hot meatloaf sandwiches, cold pea salad and coconut custard pie (IMPOSSIBLE PIE). When I got home, I set the table for supper and straightened up and then I took a nap. When I got up, I completed supper prep. Lori arrived at six thirty and our meal was spaghetti with meatloaf (instead of meatballs), pea salad, garlic toast and sliced fresh tomato. We watched a documentary on ANGEL and then a PURE FLIX movie on YouTube, one that I watched a few days ago.
TUESDAY: I had physical therapy at ten a.m. It went well, but it was a bit strenuous, I was sweating and when it was over, I would have liked to lay down. Aaron suggested that I take it easy for a while, but I needed to stop at DOLLAR TREE and see if they had any rubber bands. I use a lot of them around my clothing which I roll up before I pack for trips. Then I stopped at PANERA for a drink. shortly after I got home, Peggy arrived and I helped her load the back of my car up with metal etc. which we took to LOCK CITY METALS. I helped throw the junk onto the huge pile. We made almost ten dollars and we split it. I prepared a toasted tomato sandwich for my lunch and watched todays WHITE HOUSE Press Conference. It was especially good! This present admin. is going to go after Biden, Clinton, Oabma etc. for the Russian Collusion HoAX that they dreamed up and carried out. DJT has been in office for six months today. I worked on getting items ready to pack for the Alaska cruise and had a nice nap.
WEDNESDAY: My first appointment of the day was with Dr. Kurbs, my chiropractor. Before going to my second appointment which was at the new hospital with my new primary doctor, Dr. Basra. I stopped at PANERA first to get a drink. My appointment went well. I got a flu shot. Dr. Basra recommended Melatonin and Magnesium for better sleep. She also recommended Vitamin C and Zinc, after I asked her if there was something I could take to help keep me healthy before and during my upcoming cruise. We discussed my concerns about a possible blood clot, but she did not make any recommendations since I will see Dr. Padhi tomorrow. She seemed to know him. She recommended blood work between now and my next appointment in three months. I asked her to send a prescription for the seasickness patches to WalGreens and she agreed. Later on, after retrieving a message from Peggy, I called back and left a message asking her to prescribe PAXLOVID to take on the cruise in case I were to get Covid. After that I went to HILLMANS and asked if they could check my tire pressure. Someone did that and said that there was too much air in three of the four tires. Then I went to WENDY'S and had a TACO SALAD. This salad is not as good (or as large) as it used to be. While there, I called Jan and we agreed to meet up at the Y at two p.m. I went to PANERA again and got another drink. Jan and I walked the track for about twenty or twenty five minutes. She has recovered well from COVID, but is still feeling tired all the time. On the way out of the Y, we stopped to talk with a man representing UNITED HEALTHCARE. This was a real blessing since Jan was able to get a couple of questions answered about her dental benefits. She might be able to be reimbursed for some bills she paid that she should not have had to pay in the last two years. I spent three evening at home. I did laundry and worked on packing a bit and got together geocaches information for Skagway, Alaska. We HAVE to find at least one geocaches in Alaska.
THURSDAY: I had PT at ten thirty. Then, I got the final shots in my knees at Dr. Schlehrs office and then I went home and had a light lunch Paul, a Hearts and Hands driver picked me up at one fifteen to take me to Dr. Padhi's office for an appointment. I saw one of the PA;s, Kristen. She could not figure out the written report of my Doppler which I had done on August 11th at the hospital in Lockport, so she suggested that I get another one. I was able to get an appointment to do that at 11:45 tomorrow at the Cambria Imaging offic. Lori came over in the evening, bringing subs from Subway with her for our supper and then we watched the movie CABRINI on Angel Studios and a couple of short videos of WENDY OUTDOORS on YouTube.
FRIDAY: I called PURE TALK in the morning in order to get some extra minute, data, etc. to use on my Alaskan cruise The two females I talked to thought Alaska was not in the USA. Then I went to the Cambra Imaging center and had the Doppler. I feel that this Doppler was done better than the previous the.. During the first one, they did not look at my lower leg. After that, I went home and had lunch. Elaine picked me up around two fifteen to go to REGAL on Transit for HAMILTON. It was wonderful!
