DAY FIVE of Alaska Cruise/Trip (Monday September 15th) DAY THREE on THE RUBY PRINCESS

 Peg and I went to the Bible study and enjoyed it. Peg took this picture, the empty chair is hers!


Then we went to the International Cafe.  I  asked for a certain kind of scone but apparently they had to bake a whole new batch, and I could not understand what the two workers were saying, so I chose a different item to go with my tea.  There was some sort of event going on in the Piazza, something to do with spa services and each of us spun the wheel

but didn't get anything except some money off of a spa service.  We went to EFFY to pick up a free pendant.  When we got back to our room, I stepped out on the deck and it was HOT out there.  We decided to take advantage of that by using the pool and then the hot tub.  I quit early and returned to the room to shower and change and then I met up with Peggy and David at the pool, and we got lunch from the Salty Dog Cafe (grilled chicken sandwich, fries and lemonade). David and Peg went to a game show in the afternoon, but I stayed in our cabin and rested and ready ALL afternoon.  .  We had supper in the Michelangelo. I had the turkey dinner and I tried the fish soup as an appetizer. In the evening we  went to a magic show

(ILLUSIONS starring Elliot Hunter) in the theatre but left before it finished.  We went to EFFY'S to get another free pendant.  Then we went to a game show MAJORITY RULES.  David got to go up front (because he is a former cop). 

He did really good!   When we returned to our room, we had problems with getting into our room.

 This was what I saw out the window when I got up. The RUBY PRINCESS had stopped and we were in Skagway!  We had breakfast at the Botticelli (I had a soft boiled egg, toast, oatmeal and a banana) and then we returned to our room to get ready for getting off the ship and going to Skagway.  We got tickets for Shuttle #10 and went down to wait to be called.  Things moved along fairly quickly. The shuttle boat was one of the lifeboats, it took us to the mainland.  This is a view of the RUBY PRINCESS from the port.   When we arrived we took a shuttle to the downtown area where we walked around a bit. The downtown area has a lot of interesting shops, etc. but we did not have time to go in many of them.  Here are a few pictures:    We found a geocaches in the library (hooray). November 20th, 2020

 I had the oil changed on my car this morning.  I talked with Elaine and Betty on the phone, also.   I decided it would be a good day to stock up on groceries and other items since Thanksgiving is next week and the stores will be full of people.  Also, from watching the news, I think maybe there will be another STAY AT HOME order coming soon due to the rising number of COVID cases in this area.   First I went to Aldi's where I spent close to one hundred dollars on all sorts of items including some frozen vegetables, a piece of salmon, ground beef, canned vegetables, etc.  I took those groceries home so I could get the frozen stuff into the freezer.  I made myself  a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch.  I have so much food, paper items and cleaning items that it was hard to find spots to put everything.  I still have two hundred dollars worth of SNAP benefits available.   I rested, read and watched TV the rest ...

Tuesday, May 4th

 I got a call from Kevin K. at Northwest Bank at nine a.m. asking if I could come in and sign one more paper regarding my new SYMMETRA account.  I agreed to be at the bank at 9:45.   After that, I went to FREEDOM CHURCH for the Ladies Life Group.   Their were nine of us there and it went well.  Then five of us went out to lunch at THE OLIVE LEAF. During lunch I asked Elaine if we might be able to start up some fun things to do together on Tuesdays after Life Group.  We had started doing that a few years ago, but it never really stuck.  Elaine was very enthused about this idea.   When I got home, there was a call from the estate lawyer asking me to come in to the office and sign some forms regarding the Principal account at Key Bank.  I called and agreed to go in tomorrow morning.
