DAY TWO of Alaska Cruise Trip: September 12, 2025 (Friday)
We purchased breakfast items from a little shop across from the front desk of the hotel, and sat at a table beyond that shop to eat. I had a cherry danish, a banana and orange juice, and my bill was ten dollars. Then we got ready to venture out and explore San Francisco. We got an Uber to Pier 39 and walked around and I took a lot of pictures. When we were done with that we asked for information at a booth and were told how to get to Little Italy and China Town, so we set out on foot. I noticed a very small church next to a very large church and insisted that we go in. It was very interesting. WhWe had lunch at MOLINARI'S Deli. This was a really neat experience. Peg and I split a sandwich and David bought a small amount of a meat we had never heard of. We purchased desert at a Chinese bakery, I had an egg tart which was good. When we got tired, we called an Uber to get back to our hotel. Our driver was a Chinese man and very talkative. He likes Gavin Newsome. We had a couple of hours before supper time. I uploaded pictures and took a nap. We walked around the area behind the hotel looking for a place to have supper, but nothing really impressed us, so we ended up at TOMMY'S JOINT again. I ordered a small ham dinner. David ordered lasagna. Peggy ordered a small BBQ brisket dinner. David took one bit of his lasagna and hated it and removed it from our table immediately. So, Peg and I shared our dinners with him. Peggy and I ate some of the lasagna and found that it was extremely edible, but was not at all like the lasagna we are used to. I thought it was quite bland. Then we walked back to the hotel where we found out that our room keys did not work. So, we had to go down to the front desk and get that fixed. We got back to our rooms about seven p.m. I showered and found GOLDEN GIRLS on TV and started packing up for tomorrow morning.
