October 1, 2025 through October 4th, 2025
Oct. 1 (Wednesday). I had my appointment with Dr. Kurbs this morning, and then I called Pam and she agreed to meet me at the Y so we could walk. We walked at least a half hour, maybe forty minutes and had a nice visit. Before going home, I picked up a drink at Panera's and then lunch at the Subway on Robinson Road. The Subway I usually go to has disappeared! It must have closed when I was on the cruise, and their former space has been taken over by another business. I spent the rest of the day at home. I called Dee Mann and we talked for a while. She is looking for an Alaskan cruise for she and I to go on together. I am not one hundred percent sure that this is what I want, so I will have to wait and see what she comes up with. I made a potato salad in the evening, and had that with my leftover fish from yesterday.
October 2nd: I spent the entire day at home. I worked on my Flickr account, my Alaskan cruise pictures are a mess, but I made some progress. I worked out in the yard, raking of chestnuts and leaves from the chestnut tree, and picking up the nuts from the THREE trees and putting them into my trash cans. I worked on getting ready for Allegany. When Andrea decided not to join us, I decided to ask Pam. She has often hinted that she wants to go, and a couple of years ago, I told her that the reason I do not invite her is because she cancels so often. She agreed to come on Sunday, following Maggie and I but to not stay the entire time due to concern about her cat being left alone. (IT iS SO STUPID FOR PEOPLE TO LET PETS DICTATE HOW MUCH FREEDOM THEY HAVE). I expect that she will probably change her mind before Sunday morning, but she has the opportunity, and I hope she takes advantage of it. It would be just like Pam to look at her day planner today and realize that she has an important medical appointment or something like that.
October 3rd: I slept late.Pam called and YES, I WAS RIGHT, she thinks she will have to cancel going to Allegany. I figured that she looked at her calendar to check to see if she had any appointments when I talked to her about going, BUT NO, she hadn't and now she realizes she has agreed to take Marsha to a medical appointment on Tuesday. She said she might still go, but only stay one night, and then she said she might leave ASP early Tuesday morning. We agreed to talk later on, but I figure she will not go. This is so frustrating. I left a bit early for the Y for my assessment for the Movers and Makers Club. I had my assessment. Lori arrived a bit late but that was because someone at the front desk sent her to the wrong room. My assessment went good. I was surprised when the testor (he never told me his name) told me that he had never known anyone to do so well on one certain exercise, the one where he gave me a number and I counted by sevens backwards. After our assessments were done, Lori and I went to THE PENALTY BOX for lunch. I had the baked fish. It would have been good if it hadn't been coated with something yellow and VERY salty. I treated Lori, since she just retired. I spent the rest of the day at home. I started to get my meds ready for the Allegany trip. I contacted three people: Peggy, Andrea and Deb Seymour and encouraged all of them to call Mary Shaw and get signed up for an assessment for the Movers and Makers Club. Peggy already made the call, and I think Andrea will. I was getting my meds ready for the Allegany trip when I realized that I should try to reach Connie since I will be gone for several days. She answered her phone and said "I was going to call you". We talked for about fifteen minutes. She is less coherent than she was the last time we talked. She told me that she has a male friend, who lives there, and he is very handsome. She talked about how she wishes she could have a dog. She brought up her friend (Gordon who had a dog that Connie liked) and was surprised when I told her that I knew he had passed away.
I worked on adding pictures to some of my blog entries for the cruise. A couple of the days were totally blank, so I did those days, using the notes I kept while on the ship.
SATURDAY the 4th: I spent the day at home except for going out to pick up a prescription and a lunch special at Lil Caesers. I got ready for leaving for Allegany tomorrow. I spoke with Leslie and Maggie on the phone.
