Sunday January 4th through Saturday January 10th, 2026

SUNDAY: I watched MEET THE PRESS this morning before leaving for church because I was inerested in what might be said by both sides regarding the Trump administrations arresting the leader of Venezuela and his wife. Church was good. When it was over, five of us (me, Marlene, Lori, Glenda and Carol) went to the OLIVE LEAF for lunch. I had a burger and seet potato fries, and then I went to PANERA and got a drink. When I got home, I took my trash out to the street and shoveled a path down the middle of the sidewalk. I decided that I should let Bonnie McDermott Olscamp that Barb had passed away, since Barb, Bonnie, Chicky and I were friends in junior high school. However, a little bit of research led me to find out that Bonnie passed away in December of 2024. I called Elaine to tell her about both deaths. She knew both Barb and Bonnie. I found the movie TELLING LIES IN AMERICA on Pluto TV. I found a sympathy card and also a picture of Barb and I taken several years ago, and got them ready to send to Brenda.(Barbara's sister) MONDAY: I went to the Y and walked and used the recumbent bike for a half hour. I ran into Geneva, Selma and Sabba and waved to Peggy who was doing the BOOM MUSCLE class in the gym. Then I went to PANERA and got a drink and then to my chiropractic appointment. Then to WalMart where I got groceries and then to Niagara Produce because WalMart does not seem to carry green peppers anymore, and then to Walgreens to pick up my Viberzi. When I got home, I put groceries away and then did a mad scramble to find my TD credit card, it was in the envelope with my Viberzi. I took a nap in the afternoon. In the evening, I started deleting documents on my laptop and then worked on my ASSETS document. I called Jan and we agreed to meet at the Y at ten a.m. Lori and I agreed that on Thursday night she will bring supper over and we will watch a movie. I found a recipe for rice pudding, which I will make on Thursday. TUESDAY: I met up with Jan and the Y and we walked for thirty minutes. My plan was to stay and do a Silver Sneakers class, but I was pretty work out after the half hour walk. I went to PANERA and got a drink and then came home. I decided to make some goulash and a four bean salad. I texted Pam and invited her to supper nad sn agreed. I showered and washed my hair and then took a nap and got up in time to put the goulash together and get everything ready for supper. We had goulash, 4 bean salad, garlic toast and fruitcake for desert. I asked Pam if she wanted to watch a movie or play a game and she said watch a movie. We found the movie AGAINST THE SUN on Angel Studios. A gripping survival drama based on the true story of three U.S. Navy airmen stranded on a life raft in the Pacific Ocean during World War II, facing starvation, sharks, and despair for 34 harrowing days. Starring Garret Dillahunt, Tom Felton, and Jake Abel, it's a powerful film about resilience, ingenuity, and survival against incredible odds. It was very good. WEDNESDAY: I was about one minute late for MOVERS and MAKERS because I went to PANERA and got a large Mountain Dew which I felt I would need because of sleeping poorly last night. Brenda and Rita did not come today. The MAKERS part had us learning about Grandma Moses and painting in her style. After that, I went to Davison Road Optical to pick up my new glasses, and then I returned to the Y. I walked the track and used the recumbent bike (alternating) and I walked and talked with Fran Very for a bit. She injured herself yesterday on one of the machines. She told me about an encounter with Dave Dearborn, a disabled man who she helped and he asked her out. When I left the Y, I headed over ot Freedom Church. Andrea was already there, so I waited with her in her car until Peggy and Cindy got there. Then we all headed to the cHEESESTEAK FACTORY for lunch. Peggy was treating us with four gift cards she got for Christmas. I had one of the lunch specials called THE RENEE SPECIAL. It was a half a sandwich, a cup of soup and a salad. The soup was sooo good. It was close to two thirty when we got back to the church. I spent the rest of the day at home. Thursday: I spent the day at home. I spent a couple of hours shredding old credit card bills. Took a nice nap. Made some rice pudding. Lori came over for supper: goulash, four bean salad, carrots, garlic toast and rice pudding. We found a movie on ANGEL studios and watched it FRIDAY: I went to DOLLAR TREE, hoping to find some face moisturizer and also to PANERA to get a drink Then I went to the Y. I ran into Selma and Sabba when I was on the recumbent bike. Then I met up with Jan and we walked for 35 minutes. I went home and rested until it was time to go to WAGNERS to meet up with Glenda and Lori for supper. I had also asked Andrea, Peggy and Jan if they wanted to join us, but they didn't. We had a nice dinner together. I had the fish fry with coleslaw and sweet potato fries. After supper, Lori came over to my house so we could play games. We tried MEXICAN TRAIN DOMINOES but it seemed really complicated so we switched to BANANAGRAMS.
