WEEK of January 25th through January 31st, 2026
SUNDAY: Shortly after I got up, I noticed hat it was snowing outside. I decided it would be best to stay home from church because there is a prediction of a storm for today and tomorrow. I figured I would watch it online and using the extra time I would have used to get ready and drive to church for a couple of small tasks that I have put off. I accomplished those. A couple of minutes before 10:45, I found the service on YOUTUBE. By this time Peg had texted me to say that our speaker, Josh Lynn, was stuck in Dallas, since his flight was cancelled. He made a video last night and sent it to Pastor Craig and it was shown during the service.
I got a phone call from RED CROSS and I cancelled my appointment tomorrow and made one for February at the Dale Association.MONDAY the 26th: In the morning, I spread out all of my UNITED HEALTH CARE INFO along with UNIVERA information. I made phone calls to both United and Univera and two calls to EPIC and also a call to Tonya to tell her I will stay with United for a while. I was hoping I could change agents (I have had too many issues with the Barretts) but I have to stay with the Barretts as long as I have United. I went out and shovelled a bit in order to make it easier for my mail person to get to my mail box and I also shovelled a spot out back and moved my large bin closer to the house to make it easier for Bob to plow.
TUESDAY: I had a bit of trouble getting out of my driveway this morning. I had to shovel some snow in order to get out. I met up with Pam at the KENAN ARENA for GOLDEN ACRES. We walked around the track for perhaps forty minutes before returning to the "social" room for BINGO. I had very good luck during BINGO, since I won twice, and each time, I was given a voucher for two tickets to see THE LITTLE PRINCE in the Kenan theatre.
Pam agreed to go with me. Pam and I went to THE FIELDSTONE for lunch. After that, I spent the rest of the day at home.
Wednesday: I stopped at PANERA to get a drink before going to the Y. I was still several minutes early, so I walked a bit before returning to the room. It was a small group today. Julie, me, Peggy, Andrea and Rita was very late. The ART PART was using watercolors and painting in a predrawn picture. This is my masterpiece.
THURSDAY January 29th I did not leave the house today. It snowed steadily all morning, so I decided to stay home. I took care of a few phone calls that were necessary. 1. to my primaries office where I made an appointment to go over my supplement. 2. to the Kenan Center to ask about turning my vouchers into actual tickets. 3. to the OFFICE for the Aging to order lunches for Andrea and I for the next BARKER SENIORS meeting. While I was scrolling on FB, I saw an ad for free dinner at Cammaratas, and a presentation regarding health. I messaged various people about it, and I signed up for myself. Peggy and Andrea made reservations and I think Dee Mann did, too. I finished straightening out my CD's It is next Monday.
FRIDAY: I spent the entire day at home. I did a few household tasks. Peggy and I talked on the phone and set next Thursday to see the movie MELANIA. I did some vacuuming. I made some egg salad and a four bean salad. In the evening I messaged Andrea about something I left in her car and she told me that she is in a lot of pain. I called her and prayed with her. I finished working on a document to take to my appointment with Dr. Basra next week. I read in bed for a while and when I got up to use the bathroom, I noticed three deer in my backyard, at the west front corner. I took a few pictures.
These are the only two that came out light enough to see.
SATURDAY: I made banana pancakes for my breakfast. I called Andrea in the morning to see if she is feeling better and she said she is "the same". I offered to do a load of laundry for her. She was very happy about that and agreed to get a load ready for me to pick up. I did some shovelling in my driveway at the edges, hoping it would make it easier for me to get out. It did. I went to Andrea's place and got the laundry and then to Niagara Produce and then to the library where I picked up a book I had requested and looked at the last couple of days newspapers. When I go home, I started Andrea's laundry and prepared a burger for lunch. The movie BEFORE AND AFTER showed up on YouTube when I was scrolling through wondering what to watch. I think I have seen it before, but I decided to watch it.I called Glenda in the evening. She is doing well, but will not be coming to church tomorrow.
