Week of Sunday February 22nd through Saturday February 28th
SUNDAY: Church was especially good this morning. I came home right away instead of going out to lunch. Marlene, Glenda and Carol were planning on going. I had a quick lunch and then laid down for an hour until it was time to get ready for the movie. Sandy (who I had never met) picked me up and we met up with Andrea and Carol at Andrea's place. Andrea drove and we picked Linda up at her place on Locust Street. We went to the Maple Ridge Theater in order to see I CAN ONLY IMAGINE 2. However, when we got to the place to show our tickets, we were told that the heat is not working in the theater that is showing that movie. Andrea was given a refund and five free tickets for a future movie. We went to the REGAL TRANSIT where we arrived a couple of minutes before the movie started. Carol bought a HUGE tub of popcorn which we all shared. We had planned to go to THE RED PEPPER which is five minutes away from the Maple Ridge Theater but after changing theaters, we were no longer near it. We ended up at CHILI's. They still have the cheap burger meals, which Andrea, Sandy and I got. You get a drink, a burger, a starter and fries for eleven dollars. They make really good burgers there, and the fries are really good, too. I brought my salad home.
MONDAY: I spent the day at home. I did a few jobs around the house including completely stripping my bed, all the way down to the mattress (I have two mattress covers on the bed) and washing and drying and replacing. I made some biscuits using the mix I got at Cracker Barrel a while ago. They aren't as good as Bisquick biscuits.
TUESDAY: I went to Bible Study at FREEDOM this morning and it was very good. When it was over, a bunch of us went to CUSIMANO'S for lunch. It was me, Glenda, Carol, Cindi, Karen, and Pam. I had a kids pizza and a drink for a little over nine dollars. Their pizza is very good. Then I went to WalMart and used the money on my UCard. I spent the rest of the day at home. I got a call from Mary Shaw saying that Dr. Nik is cancelling tomorrows MOVERS and MAKERS. Oh joy!!! I don't have to get up really early tomorrow morning. I spoke with Dr. Barrett on the phone, and she will help with my problems with UNITED HEALTH CARE.
WEDNESDAY: Andrea picked me up and she, Lori and I went to BARKER SENIORS. The lunch was spaghetti and meatballs, but my stomach was a little bit off, so I did not eat very much of it. I waited all day for Dr. Barrett to call back and when she didn't, I called Tonya and we will talk tomorrow morning at nine thirty. Hopefully, UNIVERA will take me back.
THURSDAY: I started carrots in my small crockpot first thing this morning. Tonya called and she has submitted my application for UNIVERA. I am a bit concerned that UNIVERA might reject me, but I guess I just have to wait AND PRAY. I left a bit early for the Y and stopped at PANERA and got a drink and I spent some time looking at the baskets in the raffle at the Y before going to the LUNCH and LEARN, which had to do with Cardiac Rehab and services offered by the Office for the Aging. Then I went to WalGreens and was able to pick up two prescriptions It is a good thing I went because my script for Vibrezi has run out (it should not have, since I get them for six months) and the pharmacy faxed Dr. Chubineh. about a new one. I spent the rest of the day at home. I had chicken soup and cheese toast for supper.== Andrea asked me a couple of times on Fridays to see if I wanted to go out for fish. Both times I had to say no for various reasons. So I messaged her early this evening and we decided to go to THE ALABAMA HOTEL tomorrow night for fish fry. She will pick me up and when we get back to Lockport, we will get together to play SCRABBLE.
FRIDAY: In the morning, I went to Walgreens, then to NW Bank, then to Panera's and then to the Y, where I bought 3 sheets of tickets for the basket raffle, and did a mini workout on the track and recumbent bike. I stopped at Arby's and picked up lunch. I spent the rest of the day at home. Andrea picked me up at four thirty and we went to the Alabama Hotel for Friday night fish fry. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The fish was very good, as well as the loaded baked potato, and the fish was good but not outstanding. We went to JoJo's for ice cream before arriving back at my place. We played one game of Scrabble, which I won.
SATURDAY: In the morning, I started working on getting my income tax information ready, folded and put away clean laundry, made muffins, and a few other tasks. I took a nap starting at two p.m. When I got up, it was time to get ready for the meat raffle in Wrights Corners. Andrea picked me up at quarter to five. Her friend Linda met us there. This was my first meat raffle (same for Linda) but Andrea has been to at least a few and she loves them.
They did not draw tickets, a wheel was spun!
None of the three of us won anything until the finale when they set out items that have not been won, sell tickets and just keep drawing until all the items are gone. My ticket number one when there were about five dozen eggs and one packet of Italian sausage left, so I took a dozen eggs,
and then Linda won a dozen, too. I got home a little after eight p.m. I found the movie LIONS FOR LAMBS with Meryl Streep. I showered and washed my hair.
