WEEK of March 8th through March 14th, 2026

 SUNDAY:   Church was very good this morning.  A bunch of us went out to lunch.  When I asked where they wanted to go, Carol said "you are the leader of the pack", so I should decide.  I suggested APPLEBEEs, so that is where we went.  It turned out to be eight of us.  Me, Glenda, Carol, Marlene, Andrea, Peggy, Michelle McKenica.  Most of us had the $9.99 special either a burger or chicken sandwich with endless drink and endless fries.  The restaurant was VERY busy, but our server was very friendly and efficient.  

After lunch I decided to go to Niagara Produce for milk and bananas.  They did not have the milk I like but I purchased a few items.  I spent the rest of the day at home.  I finished reading THE GOLDEN CHILD.  I skipped taking a nap, I just did not feel all that tired, even though we moved the clocks ahead one hour last night.  

MONDAY the 9th:  First thing, I went over to Peggy's house so David could check the tire pressure in my car since I was getting a message that it was low.  Indeed one tire was low and he put a bit of air in it, and then he spent at least a half an hour attempting to find the spot where the tire pressure shows up on the "face" of the info. stuff behind the steering wheel.  The directions were vague and unfollowable, but he did find it, and now I know how to do it.  Then I went to PANERA and got a drink and then to the Y for walking and the recumbent bike.  Peggy was busy doing "BOOMBA".  Then I went to WalGreens to get my VIBERZI and I was pleasantly surprised when there was no charge.  Then to Niagara Produce to get some milk, but they did not have what I wanted, then to the library to return a book and pick one up.  Then home, where I had lunch.  I was just finished with lunch when David called and asked if I could come over, so I agreed to be there in a half hour  We made some decisions regarding the sale of this house and the addition to theirs.  I think things will start to move quickly now.  I got home and took a nap.

 This was what I saw out the window when I got up. The RUBY PRINCESS had stopped and we were in Skagway!  We had breakfast at the Botticelli (I had a soft boiled egg, toast, oatmeal and a banana) and then we returned to our room to get ready for getting off the ship and going to Skagway.  We got tickets for Shuttle #10 and went down to wait to be called.  Things moved along fairly quickly. The shuttle boat was one of the lifeboats, it took us to the mainland.  This is a view of the RUBY PRINCESS from the port.   When we arrived we took a shuttle to the downtown area where we walked around a bit. The downtown area has a lot of interesting shops, etc. but we did not have time to go in many of them.  Here are a few pictures:    We found a geocaches in the library (hooray). Sunday, February 13th, 2022

 Church was very good this morning.  After church, Betty, Jan, Maggie and I met up at Laport's for lunch.  I had the turkey dinner.  It was way too much food to eat in one sitting, so I brought most of it home with me.  Their turkey dinner on Sunday when it is one of their specials is a real good deal: only twelve dollars after the senior discount is used.  Our server automatically gave it to all four of us.  I suggested to Betty, Jan and Maggie that we do this every Sunday after church, going to a different restaurant every Sunday.   The 2022 Ladies Retreat was announced in the bulletin this morning.  Unfortunately for me, it starts the day after I plan to return to Lockport after my week in Allegany State Park with Leslie.  EVEN SO, I plan to go.  I could leave ASP one day early.  I will have to think about this more.  I think I will decide to leave ASP one day early so that I can have one full day and part of anoth...

THURSDAY March 17th, 2022 Saint Patricks Day

 I had to get up pretty early in order to get to Dr. Paul Wirth's office, just north of Williamsville for my procedure/surgery:  cutting out some squamous cells in my nose.  I got a tiny bit nervous because I thought I passed Sheridan Drive (where I was supposed to turn right off of Transit) so I pulled over into a parking lot and put my Navigator on and found out that I had not passed it.  The Navigator took me where I was going by a different route than I had planned, but it worked well, and I arrived about ten minutes before my seven-a.m. appointment.  Dr. Wirth is very pleasant, and he explained things well, and the procedure went well.  The only pain was when the anesthesia was administered via needle.  It does hurt pretty bad, but it is only a few seconds.  He kept apologizing.  Then he took whatever he took out to the lab and inspected it and came back to give me the verdict.   I think he said "it could not have gone better" ...
