Week of Sunday April 12th, 2026 through Saturday April 18th, 2026 NEW FLICKR Password Friday
SUNDAY: When I got to church, Andrea reminded me of the movie this afternoon. I had forgotten and agreed to go to a concert with Lori this evening. Since I had recruited Pam to join Lori and I, I did not feel too badly about cancelling. After church, I went home for lunch and to change out of church clothing, and then I met up with Linda and Andrea at Andrea's place. We went to the AMC Maple Ridge for the movie MEMORIES OF HIM. It was excellent. Then we went to the RED PEPPER Restaurant and had a very nice meal which was kind of expensive. Service was excellent. All three of us took food home with us.
Andrea wanted to stop at Wegmans for some WEGMANS BRAND KEFIR. I offered to go in and get it since her digestive system was acting up. However, they did not have any. We got back to Andrea's place a few minutes before eight p.m. Unfortunately, I had a phone message from Pam saying she did not feel well enough to go to the concert.
MONDAY: I spent the day at home. I worked on sorting out three piles of items for Cassandra, Megan and Christa. I also packed up my collection of inkwells. I washed the sleeping bag I found upstairs, dried it and fiddled with the zipper until I got it working since I am going to take it to Leslie when I go in two weeks. I picked up some twigs in my yard. I tried to find a key to open the storage area under the stairs, but was not successful. In the evening, I found the movie GUILT TRIP with Barbra Streisand. I do not like her but she is a good actress.
TUESDAY: Life Group was very good this morning and then seven of us went to the FIELDSTONE for lunch: me, Cindi, Lori, Carol, Glenda, and two others. I had the baked fish and used my fifteen percent off card from the DALE!!! I brought much of my fish home with me. When I got home, I had to make three phone calls: 1. to IMAGE COLLISION to make an appointment to get an estimate for getting the two dings on my car fixed. I have no idea how the largest one on the drivers side happened, but I saw the other one happen, since I was sitting in my car when a guy pulled in next to me and threw his car door open and hit the passenger door. Then a phone call to Dr. Lenahan's office in response to a message that I needed to call and change my appointment day and time. And third, I completed an automated call to EZ PASS since apparently the girl I spoke o yesterday did not know what she was doing (I suspected it when she did not answer my questions). All I had to do was give the new expiration date and security number over the phone, and now my EZ Pass is updated. I took a nap . When I got up, I exchanged texts with Andrea and Lori about upcoming events. I will go with Andrea to the funeral home to calling hours for Kelly's father. I agreed to go to a concert Friday night with Lori, and I invited Jan to go along. She is not interested.
WEDNESDAY: I arrived a couple of minutes early for MOVERS and MAKERS. First thing, I asked Dr. Nik how many more weeks we have. HE SAID THAT NEXT WEEK IS THE LAST WEEK!!!!! I was so happy to hear that since it means that I won't have to miss the last week which I thought was the week that I will be away, in both Auburn and Oneonta. It went well today and I took some pictures. First of the MOVERS portion:
And then the MAKERS portion. Peggy working on hers.
Rita with her work of art.
This one is my masterpiece (which I was disappointed in)
After that, I went to PANERA for a drink and then returned to the Y where I walked the track a couple of times and did twenty minutes on the recumbent bike. Then I met up with Peg at FREEDOM and we prayed for unsaved loved ones. I went to Wendy's and got the four dollar "bite" meal, a burger and fries and a free senior drink, which I took home. I did a bit of housework and then took a nap. I got up in plenty of time for Andrea's arrival. We went to a funeral home in North Tonawanda for the calling hours for Kelly Kotak's father who passed away a few days ago. We stayed about a half an hour, talked with Kelly, signed the book and watched most of the slide show. Both Kelly and her husband, Mike, seemed to be appreciative of our coming. On the way home, Andrea asked if I want to go to the UGANDA event at the church in Johnsons Creek. I was hoping she would ask, so I said yes. It is this coming Saturday night. When I got home, I started a load of laundry and watched todays WHITE HOUSE PRESS CONFERENCE.
THURSDAY: In the morning, I packed up what I kept of my collection of colored glass bottles and boxed them up. I went to IMAGE COLLISION hoping to make an appointment to have the two dings, one on each side of my car, repaired. However, I found out that I have to have it done at a specific place chosen by the company that holds my (extra) collision policy. I was able to take care of this and have an appointment for the work to be done in May. I got ready for the Victorian Tea, held at MARANATHA, a historic home owned by Pat Poeller and her husband.
It was a wonderful event and I had such a good time.
Peggy did a wonderful job organizing it and she presented a very meaningful devotion. I got home shortly after two p.m. and took a nap. When I got up, I had a message from Lori. I wish she had told me (at the tea) that she did not have her car. She went with Peggy to the church to return some chairs and Peg brought her to my house in time to leave for the Palace for the third lecture in the series. We were supposed to meet Marlene and Vicki there, but Marlene did not show up.
