Week of Sunday, May 17th, 2026 through Saturday, May 23rd, 2026

SUNDAY:  I intended to go to FREEDOM NORTH this morning, but I did not feel like getting up when the alarm went off.  Before I got up, Andrea called to tell me that she changed her mind about going with Lori and I today (to the Apple Blossom Festival) and then Pam called to ask how I was doing.  Lori was a little bit late in arriving.  We got to the festival a little bit after eleven a.m.  We purchased hot dogs for our lunch.  After we ate, Lori spent a lot of time looking at the flea market type tables.  I looked at them a bit and checked out a few historical spots/buildings and took a few breaks to sit in the shade while she shopped.  When she was finished, we went down to the CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT.   It was not crowded down there and we enjoyed a couple of demonstrations and I took several pictures. Here is one.

Up above the encampment there were a couple of women using a spinning wheel to make yarn.

Then we went up to the gazebo and got seats in the shade and waited for the HOT COUNTRY LINE DANCERS to start.  While waiting, I noticed Joan sitting close by and I invited her to come over and sit with Lori and I.

When the dancers were done, Joan wanted to get an apple cake Sunday and Lori went to get a snow cone, so I found us a table in the pavilion.  When I saw Lori's snow cone in a bowl, I decided to get one.  I got one called TIGER'S BLOOD which is a combination of three different flavors.

It was pretty good.  We decided to cross the road to see some other exhibits, and see if they had a real restroom instead of a porta- potty.  They didn't.  We went into a building to see some looms and other antique farm items.
On the way back to Lockport, I stopped at the CROSBY's near Reids so Lori and I could use the Ladies room.  I purchased some oatmeal raisin cookies that were set up by the cash register.
