Week of Sunday, June 28th through July 4th, 2026

 Sunday:  I skipped church.  I just had too much to do.  I met up with the other eleven ladies at Freedom Church a few minutes before eleven a.m. We went to Cusimano's for lunch.  I had an American sub with potato chips and a Dr. Pepper.  Then we all left for Buffalo (in three cars) to go the play A FEW GOOD MEN, which Cindi's daughter, Renee, was starring in.  She had the only female role, the role Demi Moore played in the movie.  It was excellent.  I went to Reids and picked up supper before I twent home.  After I ate, I called Leslie to confirm that I will arrive at her place tomorrow and we will leave Tuesday morning for Saranac Lake.  I worked on packing in the evening.  It is so tedious.  I could not find the movie A FEW GOOD MEN anywhere on my ROKU TV.  

MONDAY:   I drove from Lockport to Auburn.  I stopped to see CUSTOM AUTO, which I had seen information about on Facebook. The mailing address is Seneca Falls, NY, but I think it is not really in Seneca Falls. I took a lot of pictures.  It is a really neat place. 





I got to Leslie's place about three p.m. and she helped me get my stuff up into her apartment.  We went to KFC for supper.  We really did not do anything in the evening.  I started reading the book I got from Peggy:  

TUESDAY:  We left Leslie's place around nine a.m. and headed to the Adirondacks.  We stopped and picked up lunch items at a __________ in ______________.  We ended up in Boonville at lunch time and did not see any parks or picnic areas, so Leslie pulled into a parking lot for a bowling alley and ate our lunch there.Almost as soon as we entered the Adirondacks, it started to rain and it poured until we got to Saranac Lake,  Our motel room is nice, but not spectacular.  I immediately uploaded yesterdays pictures that I took at CUSTOM AUTO into my Flickr account.  We went out to a couple of stores and picked up items for supper and for breakfast tomorrow morning.  We microwaved CHICKEN A La King in our room for supper.  It was not very good and I did not eat all of it. We took a walk around the motel to find the ice machine.  It is in the small office.   I took a shower. Leslie picked out a sappy movie to watch, so I spent time online.  The wifi here at SARA PLACID is very good.

 This was what I saw out the window when I got up. The RUBY PRINCESS had stopped and we were in Skagway!  We had breakfast at the Botticelli (I had a soft boiled egg, toast, oatmeal and a banana) and then we returned to our room to get ready for getting off the ship and going to Skagway.  We got tickets for Shuttle #10 and went down to wait to be called.  Things moved along fairly quickly. The shuttle boat was one of the lifeboats, it took us to the mainland.  This is a view of the RUBY PRINCESS from the port.   When we arrived we took a shuttle to the downtown area where we walked around a bit. The downtown area has a lot of interesting shops, etc. but we did not have time to go in many of them.  Here are a few pictures:    We found a geocaches in the library (hooray). Week of Sunday, August 10th through Saturday, August 16th, 2025 (Recipe for Crazy Crust Pie)

 SUNDAY:   I took my trash out early today and it was SO HOT, that I felt that my breath had been sucked out of me.  I messaged Jan about it, since her asthma really bothers her in hot weather and I knew that she might be better off staying home from church.  Church was very good, the Eastmans performed and spoke.  After church, Glenda, Andrea, Marlene and I went to THE OLIVE LEAF for lunch.  I had the turkey dinner, which was very good even though they did not serve my gravy on the side like I requested.  I brought a lot of turkey and also my whole gen salad home.  Andrea told us the story about how she and two of her kids along with other people in a church she attended in Ohio went down to New Orleans to help out after Hurricane Katrina.  When I got home, I watched part of the four part documentary about  it.  HURRICANE KATRINA:  Race Against Time.  Crazy Crust Pie 1 C. flour 1/4 C. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 t...

Sunday, February 13th, 2022

 Church was very good this morning.  After church, Betty, Jan, Maggie and I met up at Laport's for lunch.  I had the turkey dinner.  It was way too much food to eat in one sitting, so I brought most of it home with me.  Their turkey dinner on Sunday when it is one of their specials is a real good deal: only twelve dollars after the senior discount is used.  Our server automatically gave it to all four of us.  I suggested to Betty, Jan and Maggie that we do this every Sunday after church, going to a different restaurant every Sunday.   The 2022 Ladies Retreat was announced in the bulletin this morning.  Unfortunately for me, it starts the day after I plan to return to Lockport after my week in Allegany State Park with Leslie.  EVEN SO, I plan to go.  I could leave ASP one day early.  I will have to think about this more.  I think I will decide to leave ASP one day early so that I can have one full day and part of anoth...
