July 10th and 11th, 2019

On the tenth, I suggested to Mary Anne that instead of having lunch at a restaurant, we pick up sandwiches and have a picnic lunch at Outwater Park.  She agreed and we went to Sub Delicious and got tuna subs . We stopped at my house on the way to the park and I picked up drinks, chips and cookies.  We had a nice lunch in a shady spot.    Later on in the day Betty and I met up with Pam at First Presbyterian Church for the dollar dinner:  goulash, salad, bread and butter, watermelon and chocolate cake.    Then the three of us went to the Y.  Pam and I went into the pool and Betty went upstairs and met up with Vicky for the line dancing class. Today, after a meeting at Day Hab, I picked Mary Anne up for lunch and we went to Appleby's.  Then we met up with Kevin and Rita at Mary Anne's house to check out what has been accomplished. I also picked up maps for LOCKPORT IN BLOOM.

I had breakfast with Mary Anne at her hotel and then we headed to Buffalo.  We arrived early for her appointment, but it was not long before she had her lab work done, and we headed to her doctors office in the same building.  Unfortunately, she got some bad news that her tumor has grown a bit.  Her doc did not seem too alarmed though, and mentioned that she has other ideas.  One of them was immunotherapy.  She prescribed AMBIEN to help Mary Anne sleep.  The doc decided to not have Mary Anne do chemo today, since she is still recovering from the blood infection and urinary tract infection.  It will be scheduled for next Tuesday. We stopped at PARKSIDE CANDIES for lunch.  I parked in the back just outside the small candy factory.  I guess they make their ice cream here, too  I didn't cross the busy street in order to get a good picture of the whole store, but I  got these three pictures.  The inside is amazing...

July 6th, 7th and 8th, 2019

On Saturday the 6th, I remember that after church, MA and I had lunch at Gordy Harpers.  I had the half rack of ribs and sweet potato fries.  Then I brought her to my house where we relaxed a bit, and then I drove her to ALL SAINTS CHURCH for mass.  I went back home and did a few things and picked her up at five p.m. and brought her back to my house where I prepared grilled cheese sandwiches for our supper. Yesterday, the 7th, was Sunday.  We went to LaPorts for Sunday dinner.  I had the turkey dinner which is really a bargain for less than ten dollars (the small size).  MA had a salad. Today, (the 8th) I had a dentist appointment.  I called MA when I was done and we agreed to meet up around one p.m. for lunch.  I went home and changed into my sneakers and went to the Y to walk the track for a while.  I ran into Pam and we talked for a bit.  Then I picked MA up and we went to the Dollar Tree so she could get a glue stick and then we ...

I ran a few errands and took care of Petra before I picked Mary Anne up and took her to Roswell for a scan.  We used the valet service instead of parking in the parking lot.  We arrived early and she was taken in early. She had been fasting before the scan, so she was hungry.  We stopped at the first restaurant that we came to TONY'S RANCH HOUSE on Main Street.  The meal was OK, the waitress was not friendly and the bathroom needed help.   There were a couple of perks!   Tony's is across the street from the abandoned PARKSIDE CANDY STORE and it was neat to see this artist painting this mural adjacent to the parking lot for Tony's.

Fourth of July, 2019, with Mary Anne

Image
Mary Anne and I had breakfast at her hotel.  Then we went to her house where we sorted through some of her items, discarding many. I wanted to do something fun for the FOURTH OF JULY, so I suggested we go to the Dipson Theatre to see YESTERDAY.   We had a late lunch at OLIVE GARDEN, and then went to Bowmansville to see the SACRED HEART SHRINE.  It is beautiful. We arrived at the theatre a half hour early so I walked around the mall, while Mary Anne rested.  I saw a huge sale at NEW YORK AND COMPANY and purchased these distressed jeans.   Regularly $69 but on sale for ten dollars! The movie was very good. Back in Lockport, we went to Wendy's and Mary Anne picked up a salad to take back to her hotel.  I passed Betty on Prospect Street and she turned around and came to the house to set up a time to go to the fireworks.  She had an errand to run and returned to pick me up. We found a good spot to set up her chairs.  I got an ice cre...

THE LAST THREE DAYS with Mary Anne etc. (July 1,2 and 3)

Image
I spent most of Monday, Tuesday and today (Wed 7/3) with Mary Anne.  I have done her laundry, shopped for items she needs, had meals with her and taken her to a medical appointment.  We have spent time at her house sorting through stuff and getting rid of stuff.  Kevin and Rita go into the house and bring stuff out and MA and I sort through it, and put the stuff to get rid of in large garbage bags.  Today Keven took a truckload to the dump.  Mary Anne retrieved jewelry and cash on Monday and Tuesday, both are stashed at my house temporarily. Yesterday, she had the splint removed and a smaller hard cast put on her broken arm.  This is the original hard splint which was removed at Excelsior Orthopedics. Here she is getting the new one put on.  It had to be done twice, with the second one improving on the first.    Last night we had supper at THE FIELDSTONE.  Tonight we had supper at Gordy Harpers. In the evening, Betty picked me u...

QUAKER ROAD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Image
Peggy and I left church early today, before the sermon, in order to hear David speak at the Quaker Road United Methodist Church in Gasport. He had been asked to speak about his military service and his relationship with God.  He did a great job! They honored Veterans today, and after the service their was cake, coffee and punch.  Good thing because that was my lunch. I met Rita and Kevin Layer at Faith Tab and we went to Roswell to pick up Mary Ann...…..we met with a social worker and talked to her about NOT returning to her house, but going to a hotel while a plan is made to clean up her house.  She agreed.  We went to her house so she could get some clothing, but she could not find much.  I think she was too upset and disoriented to really look. Then we went to the BEST WESTERN PLUS where she got a room for a week.  I went home for a bit and then returned and she and I went out for supper at Denny's and then I returned her to her hotel.
