Oct. 4, 2018 From Bridgeport to Yosemite
We left our lodging about nine a.m. We stopped at the Bridgeport Post Office
and purchased bubble wrap (for pinecones we found and were taking back to NY). Then we headed to Lee Vining (stopped to find a geocache at the library here) and turned onto 120 and
stopped at a Mobil (Tioga Gas Mart) and we bought gas, sandwiches and ice and MA bought a t shirt.
Entered Yosemite
and drove to the other end of the park.........stopping occasionally to take pictures, but unfortunately it was quite foggy.
We each ate half of our sandwich at a pullover. By this time, we had found out that the hood of our rental car made a good picnic table!
with bathrooms and talked to a fellow who was cleaning them. (last name Simmons).
We drove past Yosemite Village where our lodging was and arrived at the Wawana Visitors Center, where we took the shuttle to the Mariposa Grove. The grove is gorgeous, but you cannot walk out among the large sequoias, because of fences on both sides of the path.
Then headed back towards our lodging at HALF DOME LODGE in Yosemite Village.
On the drive back towards Half Dome Village, traffic was stopped because of a tree that fell across the road.
We had a heck of a time finding where to check in for our cabin. MA was getting frustrated....finally we found it..................a rustic cabin (attached to another cabin).
We finished our sandwiches for supper and decided to NOT go out for ice cream like we had planned to do.
I called Peg(using MA's phone) and left a message and she called me back and we talked for a bit. I was saddened to hear that Roswell does not have an easy solution for Myrna, she has a
difficult decision to make about what treatment to choose.
Our cabin did not have a television, so I brought in four magazines and put on Steel on Steel to listen to.
