Tuesday, August 16, 2022 INTO THE WILD at the Kenan Center
I got to FREEDOM CHURCH a bit early in order to pick up the basket that Peggy won for me last Saturday. I say she won it for me because after she had deposited her tickets, she asked me if there was anything that I really wanted. I pointed out a basket with some Christmas items because I liked the placemats I saw. She put some tickets in for that, and she won it.
During the Life Group I brought up again the idea of going to the Kenan Center Gallery for INTO THE WILD, an art and photography exhibit that opened a couple of days ago. I described it and asked if anyone wanted to go. At first nobody raised their hand, but then Cindi said she wanted to go. Most likely she was feeling bad for me just before she raised her hand. Then Marlene said she needed a ride home, and Betty said she would go to the gallery with us and take her home after. The Life Group went on for an extra half hour
A bunch of us went to Wendy's for lunch, I think there were ten of us. By that time a couple more of the ladies (Ann, Pam and Lori) had decided to join me, Cindy, Betty and Marlene. However, Lori must have changed her mind as she did not show up.
We all enjoyed the art exhibit and I took a few pictures.
When I got home, I opened the basket up. I was putting the placemats (four of them) away with my Christmas stuff and saw a SEQUENCE game that I didn't know I had. I don't remember if it belonged to Christa and I brought it here or if it was already here when I moved in, of how I got it. So, now I have TWO Sequence games. I finished watching CATFIGHT, a movie that I started watching this morning before I left the house to go to Freedom Church.
I was shocked to see this on facebook
Jeff was/is my stepbrother. My Dad's second wife's youngest son. I did not know about his cancer diagnosis. He is in his late fifties, I think. I am sure I met him at least once, but I never got to know him, but heard about him from Martha and Dad. Peggy and I will put a basket together to donate to the basket raffle, and I hope she and I can attend this event.
I talked with Myrna on the phone in the evening. I watched the movie FLIGHT with Denzel Washington on Netflix.
