Sunday the 25th: First thing in the morning, I started making the soup for the SOUP AND SANDWICH lunch CONNECT event after church. The crockpot was a pretty heavy so I decided I needed a box to put it in. I emptied out one of those plastic milk cartons that were popular years ago, and lined it with towels, etc. and this worked well. This made it easier to get out to the car. Peg had suggested that I pull up to the church doors and stop and ask one of the men who greet people at the door to take it down to the kitchen. I did that and one of the men said his daughter would do it. I never got her name, but she was really sweet and helpful. After I found a parking spot, I went down to the kitchen and took the crockpot out of the crate and plugged it in. The service was very good. When it was a over, I went down to the kitchen and helped Jan put tablecloths on. There was a smaller group of people at this gathering due to another event at the same time and it being Veteran's Day weekend. During the event, David was on his phone looking for information about a possible Alaskan cruise. His phone was slow, so he went home to use his own wifi, and called Peggy, who was busy leading the event, so I took the call. He needed some information from me to plug in. So, he booked a cruise between San Francisco and Alaska starting on September 13th. We will have a mini-suite. The event went vary well. Before going home, I stopped at WalGreens which will be my new pharmacy. I took a nap in the afternoon. Peggy called right after I woke up. I went through an old photo album and took all of the pictures out. I will mail most of them to Christa since she is in most of them. I made arrangements with Jan to get together tomorrow afternoon. If the weather is not good, we will meet at the Y and walk the track at eleven a.m. If he weather is good, we will make arrangements to take a walk or hike outside. I found the movie DEVIL'S KNOT on the ROKU channel to watch in the evening.
Monday May 26th (Memorial Day) 2025 Jan and I had talked last evening about whether to walk at the Y in the morning OR choose to do an outdoor walk or hike. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day so we decided to to to Olcott Beach. She came here and I drove. When we got there (at 1130) there were not a lot of people yet. We found a good parking spot and checked out the shops. Jan made a couple of purchases, but I didn't. We then took a nice long walk, heading south through KRULL PARK and then walking back to the edge of the lake.
When we were headed to my car, I suggested that we go into the amusement park and play some SKEE BALL. (I had wanted to do this for several years). I got several quarters from my car and we played four games each.
Then we checked out the Vintage Arcade. Unfortunately, we had used all of my quarters, so we were unable to try any of the machines, which looked like fun. A few of the machines seem to be old, the others are newer. There were kids in the way so I did not take pictures.

On the way back to Lockport, Jan mentioned getting cat food at Clydes Feed Store in Wrights Corners, so I asked her if she wanted to stop there and she said yes, so we did. We arrived a few minutes before two p.m. and they were getting ready to close at two p.m. She picked out several canned and packaged foods to buy. After that, we continued to Lockport. We stopped at REID'S and I had lunch and Jan had an orange milkshake. We got back to my house a little before three p.m. I uploaded pictures from Olcott to my Flickr account. Peggy surprised me by arriving and I suggested we go to the cemetery. She agreed. We took the item from the American Legion. It wasn't all that easy to get into the ground but Peggy figured it out. We spent a few minutes trying to find our grandparents graves ut we were not successful. When we got back to the house, Peggy went out in the garage to work and I took a nap. When I got up, I worked on sorting through all of my maps and travel brochures. And then I had supper and watched SUV, and then found the movie MRS. LOWRY & SON, with Vanessa Redgrave.
TUESDAY: This mornings Life Group was very good. I think there were ten of us there. Seven of us went to the VILLAGE EATERY for lunch, me, Cindi, Carol, Karen, Glenda, Tracy and Pam. I had one of the lunch specials, a salad with shredded salmon, greens, strawberries and a few other items. It came with two large pieces of garlic toast. It was VERY good. After that, I went to Niagara Produce and picked up a few items and then to WalGreens. I went to the pharmacy to ask for a different cap on my prescription, since I could not get the childproof one off. The clerk turned it over, and now I can take it off. She put a note in my record to NOT put childproof caps on in the future. I spent the rest of the day at home. I continued working on going through my maps and brochures and threw a LOT of stuff away. I still need to pare it all down. Pam called in the evening to cancel out on her plans to accompany me to Barker Seniors tomorrow. She has a meeting at one p.m. at the Dale Association tomorrow. We would not get back to Lockport in time for that.
WEDNESDAY
Peggy called a few minutes before I was planning to leave for BARKER SENIORS. We talked for a while. I left a few minutes late and arrived a few minutes late. I decided to do the exercise (led by Sandra) today for the first time. She did a good job and I enjoyed it. Marlene and Karen also participated. While we were finishing up, Tim Dyet was preparing for playing his jazz accordian. He was very good. The lunch was pretty good, too. Marlene won one of the 50/50s and went home with an extra $19,00. Shortly before it was wrapped up, I started feeling really drowsy.

Centerpiece on our Table
When I got home, I took a nap. When I got up, it was close to five p.m. I remembered the MEAT BALL SANDWICH and SALAD and DESERT dinner at the North Ridge Methodist Church. I decided to go. I was planning on doing take out but I ran into Deb Seymour and her friend, Gary, so I had supper with them. It was the first time I met Gary. It turns out he and I were at LSHS at the same time, for one year, when he was a senior and I was a sophomore. We talked for quite a long time after we finished eating, mostly about trips we have been on. I saw that Becky had called, so I called her back. She had talked to Elaine Stahler on the phone and she wants the three of us to get together, so I will try to remember to start setting that up soon. Elaine wants to see some dolls that Becky has.
THURSDAY: I stayed home all day. I called Dee Mann and left a message asking if she wants to come over tonight to watch KING OF KINGS on Angel Studios. I worked on several small projects that have to do with sorting and getting rid of stuff prior to my move. I put a small book case out to the curb and hop that somebody picks it up before next Monday morning when MODERN will take it. In the evening, I went through my socks and chose several pairs (that are really too tight to wear because of my blood clot) and put LOTS of coins into COIN ROLLS. I never heard back from Dee. I found the movie BROOKLYN on HULU and watched it, it is very good.
FRIDAY May 30th. I called Pam in the morning and asked if she would like to meet at the Y to walk the track, but she was on her way to a medical appointment. As I was getting ready to go to the bank and run other errands, I realized that I did know where my set of keys that has my "tags" on it was. So, I spent some time trying to figure out where they could be. I gave up and headed out. First to NorthWest Bank where I turned in the rolled coins and got $95.00 cash. Then I took the items to donate to the Good Will, and then picked up a drink at Panera's and then went to WalMart to get a few groceries. I also picked up a six inch sub at SUBWAY while I was there. The girl working really loaded my sandwich up! I had lunch at home and then laid down or a while. I found the missing keys, in the picked of the vest I wore when I went to the North Ridge Church for supper on Wednesday evening. Then I worked a bit on my tourism info box and also on one desk drawer, throwing a few items out. Later on in the evening, Mary and I chatted online and decided to take a trip to Romulus to WHITE DEER FARM. There is an interesting event on July 19th. Mary asked Lucy to go with us and is waiting for an answer. I asked Leslie to join us for the event, but she will be getting home from Hog Island the day before, so she cannot go. As soon as Mary has an answer from Lucy, I will order tickets for the event and Mary will find lodging for three nights.
SATURDAY: I had invited Lorie over for supper and to finish watching THE CASE FOR CHRIST, so I spent most of the day cooking. The menu was meatloaf, macaroni salad, four bean salad, and Paula Deens corn casserole. Strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream for desert. I did some vacuuming and straightening up and took a shower and then a short nap starting at three thirty p.m. Lori arrived on time and we enjoyed our supper. I don't think she really liked the corn casserole. Then we watched THE CASE FOR CHRIST. I read the book several years ago and really liked it. The movie was GREAT!!! Lori took one of my large glass vases home as well as my collection of small rubber balls.
