Remainder of the week after TRIP (Tuesday July 22 through Saturday July 26th, 2025)

TUESDAY:   I went to the Bible Study this morning, and it was very good.  Andrea came for the first time.  We had a good sized group.  After the meeting, six of us went to APPPLEBEE'S for lunch.  Me, Glenda, Amy (Robin's sister), Andrea, Karen and Cindi.  I tried something new:   NEW Chicken Parmesan Fettuccine: Crispy chicken breast with marinara sauce and Parmesan on fettuccine with Parmesan cream sauce,   The chicken was not really crispy but it was moist and tasty.  I brought some fettuccine and chicken home with me.  I called Peggy before leaving the restaurant because she wanted me to help her with taking metal to the place on West Avenue.  I backed the car in and she arrived a few minutes later.  I helped her load the stuff into the back of my car and we took it over.  I helped her throw the stuff onto the pile.  She made a little less than seven dollars.  I took a nap shortly after she left.

WEDNESDAY:  I accomplished a few things in the early morning and then headed out.  First, to the library to return a book that has holds on it, then to Walgreens to pick up a prescription, then to WalMart.  I could not return the pants that do not fit since I did not have the account number with me (I had written it down and it got separated from the package, and was in my car and I found it later).  Then I went to Panera and got a drink and then to the Y.  I ran into Fran Werry there and gave her my phone number.  After the Y, I went to MARK'S and got a slice of pizza, so that I would not go to GOLDEN ACRES at the Kenan Center on an empty stomach.  Turned out that I was the only person there, and although the two guys seemed to want to move forward with only me there, I told them they did not have to.  I got a bag with lots of nice items inside.  I almost forgot, but did not, to go to Niagara Produce to get milk, and I got a few other items.  I got home and had a snack of cookies and milk and then took a nap.  Lori came over here and we decided to go to the North Ridge Methodist Church for their pulled pork supper (as opposed to picking up a free meal at the Methodist Church on Main Street here in Lockport).  I drove and Deb Seymore arrived about the same time we did, so the three of us sat together.  It was an excellent meal:  pulled pork, buns, baked beans(but not really baked, out of a cam), corn on the cob and super fresh salad ingredients to make individual salads and deserts.  Then we drove to Newfane to meet up with some members of Debra Ann's FB group for women over 50 in this area.  There was live music under the gazebo.  The BYWAYS were performing.

Horace and Becky were there, sitting behind us.  I took a couple of pictures of the band using my phone.  I spoke with Peggy on the phone and we agreed to meet at her house tomorrow at five p.m. and go out for a bite to eat and then to a play at GHOSTLIGHT THEATRE in North Tonawanda.

THURSDAY:  I met with my financial advisor this morning.  It is terribly  hot outside and even though I was only outside for a few minutes, I felt it.  I decided to make chicken soup using the carcass of the rotisserie chicken I purchased in Seneca Falls.  This took a couple of hours.  I have two medium sized containers: one in the freezer and one in the frig.  I napped in the afternoon.  I met up with Peggy at her house at five p.m. in order to to go to the play in North Tonawanda.  We went to the Hong Kong Buffet for supper before heading to North Tonawanda.  We had to park a couple of blocks away from the theatre, which looks like it is in a former church.  Our seats were in the very last row, but we had a good view of everything.

FRIDAY:  I decided to tackle one of the drawers that was in my bedroom that held old postcards and other old keepsake items.  I worked on sorting through all of that.   I could not get hold of Jan this morning in order to set up a time to meet at the Y. Peggy came over to work on cleaning out the garage.  I peeked out the back window and saw her doing this. She had found a large round spool with a LOT of black rubber coated wire and wanted to dispose of it.

However, Andrea texted me about going to Barker Seniors and I asked her if she was interested in going to the Y to walk the track.  She was and we met up there at a little after noon.  Before I left, I noticed Peggy in the driveway struggling with some wire that she had taken off of a huge wooden spool.  Before going to the Y, I stopped at Panera and got a drink.  Andrea was a little bit late, so I walked a bit without her.  My knees were really bothering me.  When she arrived, we walked about twenty minutes, with a break in the middle.  I spent the rest of the day at home, and I continued working on my post card collection and I have it pretty well organized, but it can still use more work.  he

SATURDAY:  I was still working on my postcard collection and also on a bunch of what I can only call mementos when Peggy arrived to work out in the garage.  She asked if I wanted to go with her and Gail to the CHECKERED POPPY.  I said yes and went with Peggy.  I didn't know there was a vendor fair going on, I thought we were just going to check and see if they have sold any items in their shared display case.  I do not like vendor fairs very much.  This one was huge, upstairs, downstairs and outside.  I didn't see anything that interested me.  Peggy and Gail each bought a bottle of wine.  We decided to get food from the food truck.  All I got was a bowl of cut up watermelon, which was very sweet and juicy.  Gail bought tickets for the basket auction which was in the former sanctuary, but I did not see anything that I might have liked to win.  When I got home, I found a message from Lori asking if I wanted to go to the Salt and Light Festival.  I told her that it is terribly hot out and I did not want to go  I invited her over to watch a movie.  We settled on seven p.m.  I took a nap and then showered and washed my hair and then brought the trash cans up to the front of the house.  She arrived at seven p.m. and chose the docudrama BREAKING THE RULES, about the Afghanistan Dreamers, a group of four girls who made up the robotic team that travelled around and won awards.  This was before Biden pulled our troops out and handed Afthanistan back to the Taliban.  We both enjoyed this movie.  Lori asked if I want to go to a free performance of the BPO tomorrow night at Niawanda Park and I told her that I will think about it.
